Studio Canal have now announced their UK blu-ray for Mulholland Dr. and in the special features there's an "Interview with Naomi Watts & David Lynch".

Wonder if this is the same interview that's on the Criterion. And if it is, this might be an indication of a bettering relationship between Studio Canal and Criterion as that interview was conducted by Criterion themselves.

The special features also have interviews with Laura Harring, Mary Sweeney, Angelo Badalamenti and Thierry Jousse, respectively, but they don't seem to be the same as on the Criterion. EDIT: Actually the Criterion disc has an "Interview with Angelo Badalamenti".

Also, was the restoration work done by Criterion? Have they licensed it too to Studio Canal?

I had read a post from someone last night that Criterion's Mulholland Dr. has macroblocking. Has anyone else noticed this? I've watched it a few times since it got released on blu ray and I think it's an outstanding transfer and didn't notice any issues whatsoever.

If WB hadn't already released To Have and Have Not, which would also fit with the clue and is based on the same story, it could be a double release.

Water always wins in the end. Baby Wipes=unsustainable and costly. Water? Much easier to obtain and no need for wasting paper. Hell, I can attach a rain barrel to my roof and capture water if I forget to pay the water bill. But baby wipes? Hmmm. That's for babies, they're a reason they're called that in the first place. Perhaps we've reached a new low, but it could only get worse if you start getting into the dirty details of Salo. At least bidets, at least to me, remind me pure, cleansing water. And like I said, sure less wasteful than buying baby wipes!

I'm curious what everyones thoughts are on Nicolas Winding Refn? By sheer accident I watched the Neon Demon and Only God Forgives on Amazon back to back. His movies are so vivid and colorful and kind of challenging for deeper non-obvious meanings. Seems like Criterion would be a great fit for them.

After reading the comments in Amazon I was left wondering am I the only person on the planet who actually liked these movies or does Amazon's comments just attract people who want everything to be a Hallmark movie spoon fed to them in a pretty package.

Next up Bronson and a rewatch of Drive (didnt care for it the first time I watched it a few years ago).

I think both Neon Demon and Only God Forgives are stunning films. Glad to hear someone else enjoyed them as much as I did, as the majority of reviews have been so overwhelmingly negative.

Personally, I think they're both much better than Drive, and find them to be almost on par with his best early work, Pusher II and Valhalla Rising.

However, the only people I find that share my taste in films are a few other crazy cult film lovers scattered on the internet.

Well, to be honest I have been known to occasionally wipe

Really? I think Refn's films are very dumb ones - The Neon Demon and Only God Forgives feature some absolutely groanworthy attempts at symbolism that are unbelievably obvious and heavyhanded.

He styles his films well and has his little neon niche down to a tee. Some of them are fairly enjoyable for what they are I guess, but he's pretty vacuous.
