I hope the art they choose to use does this release justice.
I'm looking forward to the release just to finally see what else Synapse works on/put's out in the months that follow. These Argento titles have been pretty much all anyone talked about for the last 3 years (with the exception being a week or two for Popcorn). I'm hopeful that whatever follows The Argento's arrives to Market fairly quickly from the point it is announced, and is one of the many other films we've all been asking about for years.

Wouldn't that be The Deadly Spawn then?

"Original 1977 4-Channel Discreet English-Language Stereo Surround Sound Mix, Remastered & Restored in 96 kHz/24-bit from the Archival L-C-R-S DME Magnetic Masters."

21-plus gigs of raw archival 96/24 original audio master transfers to go through, and I'm loving every second of it.

I would love having the score as an isolated track, especially at high resolution. Christian, have you heard any news on a possible UHD blu ray release? It would be a missed opportunity not too release it as such, but I know there are limitations to everything.

Watched the Italian BD last night and add me to the list of those who were blown away by it. Great looking disc. Just wish there were some bonus features (beyond that lone non-English-friendly Argento interview).

It stuff like this that is seriously tempting me to just bite the bullet and order the Italian release. The only thing that's stopping me is that I know that no matter how good the Italian release is I'm going to want the synapse release as well and I don't need to be double dipping on yet another Argento release so soon. Hurry up synapse let's get this done.

i made the jump for the Italian and was super impressed by it, and i know i'm also buying the Synpase - it'll have a different look and a slew of extras, so it's p easy to double dip on this one. i just hope Suspiria isn't even more expensive than the $46 i've been paying for these steelbooks.

Isn't the German Blu-ray supposed to be even better than the Italian one?
I also plan on getting the Synapse but I am also pretty interested in the German release. I mean, I'm not going to pay over 100 dollars for the German leatherbook, but I know several people have mentioned the possibility of a more reasonably priced media book release once the fancy leatherbook sells out.

Hoping my Italian blu-ray arrives this week, was able to get it on Aamazon.ca for about $23 total which is an amazing deal. I'll for sure be getting the Synapse release as well though just to have the two different looks in my collection. Synapse will probably stack their release with an onslaught of extras too!

i think the German will have all the features, but yeah i'm not about to import that beast. even between the cheaper mediabook version and Synapse's steelbook, i'll probably go for the steelbook.

I believe that both discs use the master which was prepared by Torsten, but on the German disc, the transfer itself is also being supervised by him.

The English audio track should be better, and the encode according to prior posts, 84 will definitely release more reasonably priced version at somepoint. For Suspiria fans wanting the best of both worlds it would be synapse and the Germany release (Italian is also great for reasons already discussed).

Ill provably get a german version if it comes a cheaper option down the road and if the reviews show some improvement from the italian transfer wich I think is just wonderful.

I am very anxious to see the special feature on the german disc about how they handled the restoration, must be super interesting to see.

It has forced German subtitles (on the Italian at least) and no English ones though. The Italian disc is English friendly all around, which was really the clincher for me.

The only flaw of Suspiria is that you can't even enjoy a young and sexy Udo Keir because of that awful voice dub.

They should get Udo in the recording booth to do his own dub in a new English audio mix. I don't care that he's much older now.

Sorry if this has already been asked, I am looking to add this to my collection and from what I read the Italian disc seems the best option.

Can someone please confirm this is the Italian release that the majority favour?
