That doesn't rule out the possibility of someone like Arrow restoring some of those other films though, does it?

I sort of agree with you that his mid-2000s period was his best period, since everything he was making then was excellent and my favourite Sono films were released in 05, 07 and 08, which I guess technically would mean it's been "downhill" since then, but IMO most of the films he's released since then have been just as excellent and sometimes better than Suicide Club and a lot of the other films he was making then... He's had a few less-great films lately (Shinjuku Swan, The Virgin Psychics, and even Tokyo Tribe) but part of that's just his higher output, and I still really look forward to his films – still my favourite director.

I haven't forgotten... The Eureka release is tempting, but I'm holding out for a US release. I doubt Arrow would do it though since it is already out in the UK.
I would find it criminal if those Sono films weren't restored by someone.

I still haven't picked up the Scarlet Box yet as it was announced days after I ordered the UK set from Arrow sale. I was looking at it this morning though, so that stock level post was pretty timely.

I really like that Arrow is working with these smaller retailers for their sales as well. Good stuff.

I had both Vamp and Contamination in my hands today while in Newbury Comics, both in the $26-$30 range. Ultimately put them back because I'm trying to save $$ but how are both films??

Vamp was a really fun film. Contamination on the other hand is probably my least favorite Arrow release. This is coming from some one who generally enjoys Italian knock off cinema, but a majority of it's run time is a slog to get through. The effects are really fun and the final moments of the film have a decent pay off but I personally wouldn't pay more than $15 for that film.

Vamp is awesome! If you love 80s horror comedy style you'll dig Vamp. It makes for a great double feature with Night of the Creeps and/or Fright Night. It's an underrated gem

I've only seen Vamp once, and somehow I have ended up with 3 copies. I've got the image entertainment bluray, and both versions of the Arrow blurays.

Vamp good, contamination not so much.

If you love schlock get both, otherwise just go with Vamp.

Vamp is a very fun B movie but keep expectations in check. While lacking in several key areas, it has charm in spades. I quite enjoyed it. Buy it!

If John Hughes had made a vampire movie I think it would have been a lot like Vamp. It even has the asian guy from Sixteen Candles in it playing yet another goofy character.

Vamp is a somewhat fun B vampire film. Contamination however I thought was very bad.

Arrow have confirmed that the two frames in the April Fool's magazine joke were indeed clues as to a future title or two:

The image again: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/C8QwZdUXgAEF3ky.jpg:large

Any ideas? Surely they wouldn't have made it impossibly difficult...

Both 'frames' are from Ronin. Credit to fuzzymctiger on the UK Arrow thread:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...ostcount=32175

Ronin is highly plausible, being an MGM title and having no extras on the existing release, which is around 10 years old now. We know an increasing number of MGM catalogue titles are being licenced out with new 4K restorations (TGTBATU, Silence of the Lambs, Magnificent Seven, etc), so maybe Arrow got in on the act (and if they did, what else might they have acquired I wonder?). Of course I don't know yet if it is coming out in both territories but it would be the best way for Arrow to recoup costs, unless they've come to another arrangement with Shout Factory a la To Live and Die in L.A.

Someone on the UK thread speculated that the film might be a double clue for a 'Ronin-themed' title, but I don't think Arrow would be that cryptic - would they?
