Liked what I've seen of L'Argent so far, but only caught about half of it. I do agree that his black and white work is better though. Mouchette is my favourite as of now.

Another stacked month. Good time to be a movie fan. So, so happy that Albert Brooks is in collection. Hope his other films are released someday too.

Don't see why not. Two movies centered around tough childhoods. Maurice Pialat's "L'enfance Nue" might fit even better or turn it into a trilogy.

Very nice releases. Particularly looking forward to Stalker. However my butt is still clenched until I get my 16 Candles. Will not unclench until that time. Hurry it up CC.

Nope, but there was a post from last August that listed it among other new restorations screening at the NYFF. Several on the list have since been announced/released by Criterion, or are speculated to come out by them.

It wasn't teased, AFAIK, but it's been shown in a few theaters in 4K DCP "from Janus Films" so we knew it was coming at some point.

L'Argent is by far my favorite color Bresson film, and the only one I rank as of the same quality as his earlier work. I just saw a retrospective of all his films and got to fill in a lot of gaps (though I missed A Man Escaped and haven't seen Les Anges du Peche in a long time), and in my quick, as-of-yet-unconsidered ranking, I'd put L'Argent in my top three with Journal and Balthasar, followed by Mouchette and Pickpocket. Given, I've only seen it the once, but I really, really look forward to seeing it again. I enjoyed Quatre Nuits... a lot, and appreciated if didn't quite like Le Diable, enough that I would watch both again given the chance, but I don't know that I'd buy them. L'Argent is one I definitely want in my collection, though.

Now I just want a Journal... blu, especially since I had to miss the imported 35mm print of it that they only showed the once!

The Criterion DVD will have to do for now...

Yep. It toured theaters some last year, but the only announced video release so far is an Italian blu that keeps getting pushed back: https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=282772
