I was just logging on to ask if anyone had heard anything else since the email saying it was about to be shipped in 'the next few days', which was almost a week ago.
Great news, although my account still shows it as Processing.

Is that just the puzzle, or is the LE wrapped in it too?
Can you give us more details please, thanks.

Everthing is under the wrapping paper except the vinyl. Came in a large outer box approx 16.5 by 12 inches.

I got a resealed with fragile tape box too. Maybe they're just recycling used postage boxes?

How is the wrapping paper sealed? Will it be possible to remove the contents without ripping it, and put them back in again?

Wrapped in cellophane. Unless they've taped the wrapping paper it should re-wrap easy enough.

If anyone opens their set it would be great to see some photos, for those of us still waiting.

Arrow says the deluxe PHENOMENA has sold out from its store. Copies are probably still on Amazon. Don't hang around if you're after it.

I've had mine on pre-order on Zavvi for more than two months now.

Something tells me that this year is going to be chaotic for me with my films.

I've got the this and the Phantasm set on pre-order from Zavvi, I'm looking to also pre-order Brain Damage, Evil Ed and Bird with the Crystal Plumage, and I'm preparing for the July B&N Criterion sale.

Bring it on.

Just got the US LE of Donnie Darko in and initially I was going to sell it off but I have to hand it to Arrow, it is a phenomenally nice package!

Enough for me to have serious second thoughts about waiting for the regular edition and selling the LE off.

It isn't wrapping paper. It is just a printed box.

i asked ARROW if the following releases would still come with the booklets:

The Glass Key
The Blue Dahlia
Hangmen Also Die
The Ox-Bow Incident
Woman On The Run
Too Late For Tears

and i got this reply:

All these titles were released Summer/Autumn of last year so it’s unlikely any of the editions left at our store/Amazon/Zavvi will be first pressings (including booklets). Conversely you may be lucky and get one, sorry for the uncertainty in our answer!

can anybody who got one of these recently confirm that it does not contain a booklet anymore? or anyone knows where it's likely to get versions with booklets for these?

They really need to differentiate between first and second pressing for these booklets, it's not difficult if they're that bothered about customers.

this also annoys me. if booklets are your thing, it's hard to keep up financially with all these great releases when none of these titles are ever on sale.

so i just ordered glass key, dahlia, and ox bow from base.com. they all came with booklets. thin booklets, but booklets nonetheless.

Considering that Arrow has been since about a year removing the mention of the presence of a booklet on their first pressing details cover to avoid having to reprint a different cover for their second pressing, I doubt that they’re actively looking into differentiating the pressings since they’re basically doing the exact opposite.

As far as I'm aware the film has still not had a Bluray release in the US so I'm not sure if it is something Arrow could release there.
For me it's only Lost Highway that would interest me. Still not a good UK release (sound) only in Germany and Frence. US still waiting for the Criterion Collection release (coming to the UK?).

By the way, my former boss (who works at HMV) said that they'll be doing another Arrow '5 for £30' promotion in May, incorporating some recent titles, so keep an eye out! He said The Hills Have Eyes would be amongst them, which surprised me as the standard edition is, I believe, exclusive to Sainsbury's at the moment.

I've recently ordered copy of The Blue Dahlia so will let you know if the booklet's still knocking about. Got it on eBay though so dunno if it could've been an earlier copy (more likely it will be). Obviously means I'll want to try and get The Glass Key also with the booklet, but may wait to see if it goes on sale either at HMV/Fopp or elsewhere.

Would also like booklets for the others you mentioned, especially The Ox-Bow Incident and Hangmen Also Die, but obviously it's a gamble. Might be better to pick those up instore at HMV should they have another £7.99 Academy promotion. That's what I did last time, for Hard to Be a God - the copy I ordered from them online had no booklet, so I returned it and bought a copy instore. However, Three Brothers still had a booklet, but was only released a few months before the promotion whilst Hard to Be a God was roughly a year old by then.

Guessing that's Arrow Video titles, at least mostly? I'd be happy to snap up a few I wasn't interested in buying on release, or couldn't afford at the time - especially 52 Pick-Up, Dark Water, The Burning, Dead-End Drive-In, Burnt Offerings, and maybe some of the Battles Without Honour and Humanity ones.

i couldn't wait any longer, followed the hint and ordered "the glass key", "the blue dahlia", "hangmen also die", and "the ox-bow incident" from base.com, and "woman on the run" from zavvi because not on base and at a good price.

i held out for so long, but today was the day i couldn't resist them anymore.

still have to pick up "too late for tears"...

i'm honestly surprised that the booklet versions wouldn't be available for a longer time, i thought they would be around for at least 1 1/2 or 2 years minimum.
i'll also give an update as soon as they arrive, and send a prayer to the movie gods that they'll provide me with the booklets.
