I'm going to assume that you have seen at least one special forces or SWAT training video but I watched this badass Spetsnaz video and some of the training they do. One clip had them in some little cage and it's gyrating, I guess simulating like they were firing from a moving vehicle. I've got some SAS videos as well but haven't watched them yet. I saw one video where (and I'm not sure if this was an actual mission or training) but this Spetsnaz op runs and dives feet first through a windshield, back somersaults on the hood and draws his pistol on the driver. It was pretty rad
i watched one a few months ago. but i can't, for the life of me, remember what country they were from. i just remember watching it and being extremely impressed with it and how far they push themselves in training.

I'll find a couple and post them in spoilers. That's actually something I often wonder about. I'm kind of big on Top 10 lists and I do often wonder (not deeply) which special forces unit is the best in the world.
Also, have you heard the phrase, "I do not fear the valley..."?

You're welcome. I'm glad that you liked them! Yes, I was also thinking of mentioning him firing both weapons but I couldn't remember exactly how he was holding them. That is awesome. And firing while laying on their sides was cool too. I kind of wish I had had a different MOS when I was in the Marines.
And here's a pic that you may not have seen before. Not sure if you have heard the phrase.

I think there should be a site wide rule of fixed UV prices. that way people can't low-ball other sellers, and that way, there aren't people trying to rip off others as well.

It guarantees an honest sale and not a competitive environment.

the only problem is how does one judge a fair price.
Gotham Season 1 sold physically for $10 new.
But Gotham Season 2 has been consistently at the $20-25 price.

Outlander is a high priced show at retail. Especially the Limited Editions.

A movie can sell for 30 one week and 10 the next, how do we judge it without ourselves feeling ripped off by having to lower our price because the store dropped theirs.

But then we get to the Disneys where they can fetch upwards of $50... Look at The Lion King. I saw someone sell it for $60 and it sold.

Then we have the DVD/BD/UHD issue.
DVD in 480
BD in 1080 and
UHD in 1080 or 4k because studios are stupid and can't include a full code.
Why should we be "penalized" for selling at a slightly higher price a UHD code even if it doesn't redeem in 4k?

Haha, I think I have heard that one. It's good! Were you ever in the military? I'm going to assume that you enjoy cleaning your weapons. I never did. The most exposure I got to different weapons was in MCT and it was great firing the shit outta those things but cleaning them afterward sucked lol

I thought I posted my musings on a Noomi Rapace look alike. Either they got deleted or I never hit submit lol

never was in the military, unfortunately.

and yes, i like cleaning my weapons. i find it calming and soothing. i used to just do a field strip to clean my glock. now, i do a complete take-down when i clean it. when i clean my ar, i don't take out the trigger assembly as it's a bit more involved. and i actually don't have the proper tools to do it safely and properly. but everything else gets broken down and cleaned very well.

and i love when i get to do my training with my cousin (former police officer of 20-something years; retired). he always brings something different of his and lets me shoot it.

I forgot to ask you, have you heard of the YT user FPSRussia or something like that. i'm sure you must have heard of him. Actually, you might be him I don't think I told you this but my gun-owning days are over forever. I used to love shooting at this pit up on this road called Big Hill. The area was known for having a lot of trailer trash types which I'm just stating matter-of-factly. Anyway, off the side of the road there was this big pit where you could dump garbage and shoot. So you could bring out your bottles and crap that's fun to shoot at and then because it's also a dumping ground, you might find an old TV or washer and dryer to shoot. I only had a 12-gauge and a .22 rifle back in high school. Unfortunately I had to sell the shotgun years ago and the .22 got confiscated back in '15.
[Show spoiler]Actually when SJPD came to my door, 1) the .22 was sitting out in the living room and 2) it was sitting on top of a suitcase. Tell me that doesn't look suspicious haha

That's cool about your cousin. I remember that we used to use CLP to clean our weapons and it has that smell. You know it's the smells that really bring us back so I think if I smelled it again, it would really bring back those memories. I met a guy from South Africa back in '15 when he and his wife were living at my apartment complex. They were here for about six months or so. Anyway, he was VERY big into the gun culture so you guys would have gotten along great!

yeah, i've heard of FPSRussia. he's not too far from me; in the neighboring state. i think i've only watched a couple his videos, though. and i found it funny that so many people made a big stink about the fact that he isn't really russian. even though he's said that he isn't really russian and that the accent is fake.

re: .22 out in plain view when sjpd came to door...

that's crazy that they'd confiscate it just because it was out like that.
[Show spoiler]if that was, indeed, the case.
and that's why i love living where i do. the gun laws here are very 2nd amendment-friendly. open carry is allowed everywhere except schools and gov't buildings. but even the law about the schools is kind of ambiguous and contradictory in some spots. and ccw permits are easy to get (so long as you have no felonies and no assault charges on your record) and cheap. also, they're trying to pass a law now (currently in the state house of rep.) that says you won't need a ccw permit to carry concealed. they passed the law early last year stating that if you have a ccw permit, you don't have to go through the background check when you purchase a gun. but obviously if they pass this new law, you'll have to do the background check when you purchase a gun. but, six of one half-dozen of the other. doesn't matter to me either way.

i currently only have 2 guns, my glock 19 and my ar-15. my next purchase will most likely be a 12-gauge. i've been wanting for a while and need to go ahead and pick one up. they're pretty cheap here, plus they go on sale pretty often, too.

and YES! that smell of clp. that's what i use to clean/lube my guns. i LOVE that smell. i like the smell of gunpowder while shooting. but that smell of clp is even better. and it does sound like i'd have gotten along with that guy. i like talking about guns and learning about them and the history on them.

lol yeah his accent is pretty funny. I've seen a few. I saw one where he had a .50 cal mounted on a drone and he was shooting the hell out of some stuff. he actually blew up a car with it. I also saw one where he fired two automatic shotguns at the same time.

Regarding Peet, yeah he ordered some stuff while he was over here and sent it home to his brothers. I forget what all he said about South Africa like if they're more lenient there or stricter. I have a feeling that they're more lenient.

Regarding my .22
[Show spoiler]they were at my house for a specific reason and...I'll just say that I don't think I would have used the .22 for anything but yeah my mental state wasn't at the best place. oh, and the reason my suitcases were out in the living room was because I had just come back from my Germany/Austria trip recently and had not put them away yet. The .22 was just sitting on top.

I had thought about trying to get a CCW license several years ago. I don't have much experience shooting a handgun at all. I think I fired my stepdad's revolver one time at a tree and I don't think that I even hit it. haha That was back when I was in high school. I gotta say that I think the names Sig Sauer and Heckler & Koch are cool sounding. I mean they just sound cool, kind of like Albert Anastasia does too haha

Have you ever considered trying to get a job in law enforcement?

only all the time. and since i was quite young, too. but i'm not that anymore; pushing 50. i don't feel or act like it, lol. but the numbers don't lie.

i will say that i could probably get a job in that field with the help of my cousin. he knows almost everyone in that market around here. and he's trained a good deal of them, too. so i know he could, and would, help me out. but i'd definitely need to get in shape, first. which i've been working on...slowly. i used to be in damn good shape...years back. but i got a job in restaurant management. it was long hours, but being in that field meant you ate a lot of the product. and it usually wasn't all that healthy for you. then when i got out of that market, i mostly worked jobs where i would be sitting and sedentary pretty much all day. and the pounds starting coming back. so that'd be the first thing i'd need to work on.

I had no idea you were so old!!! lol no of course you aren't that old at all but while I had never thought about your age, I would have guessed my age (38) or younger. I know this sounds silly but I think working for the FBI or CIA would have been cool. I say that like if I had only chosen too. I don't think I would have ever made it though even if I had tried right after getting out of the military.
And I'm assuming you have A LOT of experience with firearms...well...I was just thinking that maybe work as a private security contractor over in the Middle East might be cool but I'm sure ALL of those guys have combat experience. But yeah if your cousin could help you out, hell it might be something to look into.

This morning I told a Lady friend that I had started a relationship with someone else and the Lady friend was obviously disappointed. She never gave me the impression that she wanted me, so I felt free to go elsewhere. She knew I wanted her, but was being coy or playing hard to get, I don't know.
It's good that we didn't get together, because maybe I wouldn't be with the one I'm with now. No feelings were hurt, just some disappointment on her part.

Im glad it went well for you! Sometimes people can go absolutley nuts when they feel like they were rejected and what not. Glad it seems peaceful instead of her turning into a psycho stalker, lol. And again, I'm happy you got someone!

@ my showing of Guardians today I saw a guy from work sitting alone in the theatre. He would be a good candidate for a movie buddy. I should say hi to him at work next time I see him.

How is that rude?
Maybe she was just trying to start a conversation.
Maybe she was trying, subtly, to see if you were single.
Maybe she wants to know you better.
