Default Hulu's "The Orville" (Season 3 Premieres 03/10/22)

Aside from a stupid name, I really hope this turns out to be great.
Seth is a huge fan of Star Trek, so I have hopes that he will sneak in lots of references to not only Trek but other sci-fi shows.

Hopefully it becomes an awesome alternative to actually getting a Galaxy Quest TV show.

FOX and science fiction. This should end well.

Wow, outside of "The Gifted", these new Fox shows do not look good from the trailers released.

I know Seth MacFarlane has his haters but I don't care. The guy makes me laugh. His sense of humor just tends to align with my own. The trailer gave me kind of a Galaxy Quest-esque vibe. I'll definitely check this out.

Going up against This Is Us, Thursday Night Football, and one of the Shondaland shows on ABC?

Why don't they just announce its cancellation now and save time?

A lot of jokes about the show being canceled, but the rate fox's ratings (and really all of broadcast) have been going they literally can't afford to cancel a show after a couple of episodes, unless literally no one watches it, which is impossible. They're giving it a post football debut.

I actually thought this was a better trailer than The Gifted, which seemed both cheesy and pretentious at the same time. I'll still watch it, but they could have done better.

It is scifi after all.

Doesn't mean the people that watch it will be part of Nielsen so those people don't matter to any network.

I don't like Seth MacFarlane for the most part but that is mostly due to hating Family Guy... and as much as I'd rather Adrianne Palicki go back to Agents of SHIELD, I thought this looked like it could be decent so I'll check it out.

Yeah, posted on twitter after I saw the trailers that Gifted and the doctor show the Resident? looks to be the only ones as of now that I would pick getting renewed this time next season.

I wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't even make it a whole season.

Meh, it should've been more like Galaxy Quest.

Honestly, if he weren't with Fox, I would have trusted MacFarlane with a new Star Trek more than anyone else.

I like Seth McFarlane's work regardless of if it's a tv show or a movie. To me, this looks amazing!
Having a comedic sci-fi show will be golden!

And of course Fox will cancel it.

The jokes about Fox canceling everything are as outdated as jokes about the Cubs never winning the World Series. It's a completely different regime now. Besides, Fox cancels the same amount of shows as the other networks do. You just notice the genre shows getting axed because Fox is more willing to take chances on them. Would you rather have their schedule filled with Empire: Miami, Empire: New Orleans and Empire: Chicago instead?

CBS canceled Person of Interest, Supergirl and Limitless at the same time and not a peep, but crap like Minority Report gets canceled at Fox and people lose their minds.

Person of interest ended and Supergirl switched to CW. Those weren't cancelations.

But nonetheless, I agree. Tons of shows get canceled from every network. Including genre shows. Firefly was nearly twenty years ago. People need to move on.

It's more about their treatment of sci-fi shows. And yes, there are more recent examples than Firefly. Almost Human, like FF, was aired out of order and swiftly cancelled after one season. Also see: Dollhouse.
