So hilarious seeing those old posts of Torsten being revived where he was trying to suggest that Synapse Films COULDN'T POSSIBLY be doing a new scan of the negative, when his Regan McNeil-puked upon low-contrast abortion of a "restoration" used that very scan as a source!

BTW- Luciano Tovoli did a Masterclass presentation in Amsterdam on the 19th of this month regarding his work on THE PASSENGER. This happened to be in the same venue where the TLE "restoration" of SUSPIRIA had recently shown. Tovoli made it clear to the crowd gathered that had they been there for said "restoration" screening, what they saw was GREENSPIRIA, not the film he had actually filmed titled SUSPIRIA.

No offence, but if i was a label like "synapse films", after reading your posts, i would do everything possible to have your name not affiliated with my company anymore.
Torsten is a professional, you come across like a clown/troll desperate for attention.
You are actually destroying synapse's good reputation with these posts.

The german version isn't even out yet, Torsten explained multiple times what their restoration is all about, and that they would do additional work on the colours compared to the italian disc. So what the #@¥% are you talking about.... such a ridiculuos troll you are. Sad.. . I bet the version you and tovoli prefer will look like hdr10iria.

Just wondering, how can anybody be on one side already. The german blu-ray isn't out yet. The synapse blu-ray isn't out yet. So what is everybody even arguing about here...?

I don't know which Blu-ray will be more accurate but I certainly do know which company is represented by a polite professional and which isn't.

It's unbelievable what kind of people some companies hire to represent them.
I used to be a big Synapse fan. They released "Long Weekend" on Blu-ray even though Don May knew they probably would't make any money with it.
Now I will think three times before I ever buy a Synapse title again.

Some words about Torsten. I have reads hundreds of posts of him in german and english forums. He tirelessly tries to explain his work to us laymen. He often gets a lot of flak both by internet trolls and by people disagreeing with his choices or people who simply don't like his verbose explanations and would prefer short and simple answers.
Torsten has ALWAYS replied in a polite and professional manner, even to people who were attacking him on a personal level.
I'm not sure if he's work is always beyond reproach but the way he deals with us paying customers is exemplary.

For quite a while I've asked if Synapse can come up with an explanation as to how they decided on their colour.

When the interview of DM was published I was very happy that they've (a) finally done so, and (b) were using an extremely reputable source.

Were all of the questions answered and the validity of the two looks answered? No, but we were certainly getting there.

Then Christian vents. I'm sorry, but I can only agree with the above posters that, if I were Synapse, I'd gag him.

I don't mind disagreement. I don't even mind a bit of good-natured argument. But there's absolutely no need for that sort of personal abuse.
