Let's not start jumping to conclusions that SF may have a deal with Paramount until we actually know they do.

No one claimed they had a deal with them. The question was regarding what horror films Paramount had that would fit with the Scream Factory line.

An article written today on slashfilm explained why there won't (ever) be an Event Horizon Director's Cut released. The extra footage that was shot has disappeared and may be lost forever. Unless it magically reappears, this is one you can cross off the list. I'd still be OK with Scream Factory releasing a regular version though.

Isn't this what people said about the Nightbreed footage for over two decades?

They found a version of the footage in an old salt mine in Transylvania (seriously) back in 2013. The problem is that it currently exists as low quality elements. With that said it's highly likely that someone somewhere either has a print or elements that could be used to create a directors cut. The issue is that no one seems to know at this time where to find them right now. Scream Factory could potentially source what is available and include a directors cut as a special feature like what they did with the screener version of Return of the Living Dead.

The low-fi'ness of the footage could make it more intense.

Scream Factory will be appearing on the Shock Waves podcast in the next week or two.

I was looking forward to blind buying The Vagrant, but after watching the trailer, I couldn't pull the trigger on it. The synopsis sounds great, but I didn't like the over-the-top tone and feel to the trailer. I would like to have seen a more straight-forward horror film, more so than the comedy that it appears to be from the trailer.

Yeah, if you don't like over the top horror-comedy, you will not like The Vagrant.

The Vagrant is hilarious, I was happy enough when Scream released it on DVD so the Blu-ray is a real unexpected treat.

Not quite sure what you are asking. Anchor Bay was purchased by Starz years ago. However, a few years ago most of the bigger genre stuff they released on DVD (Re-Animator, Hellraiser, Children of the Corn, The Hills Have Eyes, etc) was sold or licensed to companies like Image who put out Blu-ray editions. Now it looks like Arrow is starting to release some of those titles in the US.

Lionsgate has purchased the starz library so that's likely the studio being referred to.

ment to say was what company seems to have the most releases from anchor bay? like scream, arrow, vinegar, or synapse? but then synapse said anchor bay is owned by lions gate, so how can anchor bay stuff be released if lions gate doesnt work with these labes like scream and what not..

What heavy-hitters were officially part of the "Starz libary" at the time of sale?

Somewhat related...is it true that Lionsgate may actually own Fright Night Part II in the US? If so, any chance of a Vestron release? I ask because I just blew $40 on the German mediabook and when I do something like that a US release usually follows.

Anchor Bay did not own most of the films they released. Most of those films were licensed from the rightful owners and many of those licenses have long since expired, making them available to be licensed to other home video companies for subsequent releases.
