I have friends like you and its really annoying. I often ask them if they saw a particular movie and they say,"I don't know". How do you not know? And how can you not recall what movie you own. Maybe it's me. I only buy movies I really liked in the theatres. So I'm aware of what I own. I don't buy a mediocre movie just cause it's on sale.
