She doesn't mind it now....

If you jsut want the achievement, I'm sure you could play single on easy and use the shotgun. I'm after the sneak past her achievement myself, and I've come to the conclusion that I'll only get the 'no damage to team' achievement on a single player campaign. I swear, last night I took more damage from teammates than the zombies. I'm not awesome at the game, but still. camper |

If you want to try the no damage to team, I'd be willing to give it go. I've also tried the "Use only pistols" I did that for 1 full chapter and didn't get anything. I think you have to do that for the entire game. The other night I took some hellacious FF from this one dude, I finally called him out on it. Granted, I've done some too, but this guy nearly killed me several times, just spraying his gun around. |

Camper, I'd like to propose to start listing some strategies.
I'll start. After getting puked on by a boomer If you are playing with some people who know how to play, go ahead and crouch and get your back to a wall or a corner. Keep your gun and melee, melee, melee. Let your buddies project you. If you fire around, you're bound to hit some of your teammates...it's best to melee and let your team take on the horde. You should never really be isolated in the game, so someone should always be near you. I see my teammate has a hunter on them Again, melee the hunter off and pop a few rounds into the hunter. I've seen 3 people shoot at the hunter that got on me. Needless to say, I had to use my health pack. |

Yeah...sounds cool
![]() Reload: Whenever you have a break, reload even if you've only expended a single bullet. This is crucial with the shotgun and sniper rifle, and almost as important with the pistols since they take precious seconds to reload. Smokers: If you're near a teammate who has been grabbed by a smoker, hit him with your gun; it will loosen the smoker's grip and let your buddy free so you both can go after him. Death Toll Finale: It's tempting to sit upstairs in the house after calling in the rescue boat--especially with that mounted machine gun--but there are FAR too many blind corners. Everybody needs to load up on pipe bombs, and bring along whatever gas cans you can find, and head to the dock where the boat picks up. There will be hordes, lots of them. The first horde will rush up the dock, where you should have a gas-can waiting and blow them up. Do this with as many gas cans/propane bottles as possible. Each subsequent horde should have a pipe bomb used, but ONE PERSON needs to keep a pipe bomb handy until the very end to handle the final horde that appears when the rescue boat does. Also, while standing on the dock and facing the woods and your back to the bay, there will be a large rock to the left that smokers love to hang out near. Always be on the lookout for smokers there. Pistols shoud be used when the tank appears, the other weapons are not reliable at a distance and once he hits the shoreline the M16's need to unload at him. Blood Harvest Finale: Sticking close in the cornfield is VITAL. Get your bearings in the clearing in front of the tractor to get your bearings and make sure everyone is there. Then run to the hay stacks and then to the farmhouse. The best defensive position is in the bedroom at the very top of the stairs. One person needs to concentrate solely on the windows, two people need to cover the stairs, and the fourth needs to cover the hallway and be ready to assist with the windows first, stairs second. When the tank comes, hit him fast with the person in charge of windows watching for stray zombies/hunters/smokers. This bedroom has the added advantage of being right next to where the truck arrives. When you hear the truck is there, go out the right window and wait until the back door is open before jumping off the roof. As soon as you hit the ground, more zombies will rush you. It's important to not be on the ground until after the truck has opened the back gate. Other: If someone needs to go anywhere away from the group (ammo, medipack, etc) then someone else must go too. If there are only 3 survivors, all 3 must go. The only time it's safe to go a short distance on your own, is to rescue someone from the closet and that's it. I haven't figured out a good strategy for the hospital and airport level, althoug there is a closet at the airport finale that works well until the tank arrives. Hope it helps, camper |

Quick comment...
Blood Harvest I haven't tried that tactic yet... The one that worked well for the 4 of us was setup this way. 2 in the upstairs bedroom closet 2 in the upstairs bathroom Advantages - both have one way in/out, the horde just melts in front of you with 2 people firing and hopefully not reloading at the same time. In between hordes, both of you run down to replenish your amo...a key thing to do, do it fast though. Disadvantages - If you get stuck in there with a Tank, you are toast. When I heard the tank coming, we all ran downstairs to fight it outside, then back up in the house after it was dead. It really takes all parties knowing what they are doing to pull this off. I have not tried to solely defend the dock, it's a great position, especially since running for the boat to pick you up is where someone always goes down. The only drawback I see is that your ammo stash is too far away to replenish. However, since we all know zombies can't swim, you can funnel them...and just use pistols. Not saying either one is better, but it's great to hear others comment on how they Survive after all, that's the whole point of the game, not killing everything, just surviving... ![]() |

Apartments
This is one of my favorite chapters. The ending is great, but the strategy I typically have used is when someone calls for the chopper, we run up and hop up on the A/C units directly above the radio. 2 people up there and usually 1 on the chain gun. The other one typically floats between the room below and the rooftop. We all try to keep the zombies off the chaingun person and pick off the horde coming from all directions. Warning Do NOT stay up there when the Tank comes, he can get up there and 1 hit will send you sailing and sometimes instant death (if you fall off the building). Get to the ground and fight him there. Now here's the part that really gets me. Running for the chopper. Everyone should run at the same time, b/c usually when it arrives, everyone just bolts, a free for all. The chances of getting overwhelmed, stuck by a hunter or smoker greatly decrease if you all run there together. This has NEVER happened since I've been playing. |

Tried the 'stay close to ammo' trick a LOT of times (seems smart) but it seems like every time someone would try to replenish ammo, one would get pinned by a hunter while the other got hit by a smoker so they both got killed. Or a boomer shows up, and blinds them both.
The key with staying away from the ammo and camping out elsewhere, is to use pistols as much as possible. You can take out a LOT of zombies before the horde gets to you, in which case you swap to your primary weapon. And if you use the propane cannister/gascan trick with the pipe bombs, you don't blow through your ammo so fast. One of the things that annoys me, is people throw out the pipebombs when they don't need them. You hold onto those suckers until you reach the places where you get the message "the horde is coming" or if you are REALLY under some pressure and can't get a break. I've seen pipebombs used to kill 3 zombies. ![]() camper |
