Armour of God: Chinese Zodiac arrived.

Good 3D!
A fun film with a lot of action and unusual stunts.
The English audio track really helps my comprehension where I don't need the subtitles so I can concentrate on the 3D.
Also, many in the cast actually are speaking in English.

that version of Chinese Zodiac that you have is not in MVC codec, instead it's AVC encoded in top/ bottom 3d, it's also the 108 min version instead of the 2hr 3min version. also the german release doesn't have the deleted scenes in 3d, where as the hong kong release does.
Also the film was shot with multi-language sync sound including English, Mandarin, French, Spanish and Russian.

When "Info" is pressed on the Oppo the digital codec is identified as MVC BDMV 23.976Hz(3D) 16:9, not AVC top/bottom 3D.

Edit: Sounds to me like there must be an alternate bootleg encoded with 2D AVC encode top/bottom 3D. The encode on this Blu-ray 3D disc is definitely MVC stereoscopic video frame pack, 1-31-2014 release.

Just ordered XXX and pre-ordered Kong of Skull Island.

We just finished watching Conan the Barbarian. Don't know why so many put this one down. If you like these types of movies, this was great! Plenty of action and surprises to keep one glued to the end.

The 3D was overall good and added to the fun and toward the big budget climax it became fantastic.

Deserves better than what many give it. Maybe more should have seen it in 3D.

I've been binging on 3D this month. A couple more 3D gems:

Julia X
A torture, slasher comedy, delving into dating, BDSM, and feminism. Don't let the low budget or bad IMDB rating steer you away. There's no bad CGI or bonehead characters to spoil the fun. The performances, makeup, and special effects are excellent. The script cleverly maintains a light tone despite the gruesome images on screen. Its games eventually grow tiresome, but it's a quick 90 minutes with plenty of laughs and grimaces.

Hollywood stereographer Jason Goodman acted as full cinematographer for this project, and his passion for stereo photography shines through. Golden Age-style depth and roundness are on display for the entire picture. The are numerous pop-outs, often involving blood splatters and weapon swinging. If Hollywood had given talented guys like him more creative control of depth settings, modern 3D would look killer.

Asterix and Obelix: God Save Britannia
The French comic book characters in live action 3D. It's a standard quest adventure with bumbling, goofball characters. I was surprised by how funny this movie was. It looks silly, and it is--but funny silly. There are a lot of good jokes, making fun of the differences between French and British, and sometimes Italian, culture. I was entertained.

The 3D looks great. It's all native with constantly nice depth and roundness. I wish they had been a little more adventuresome creating goofy pop-outs. There are a few moments, but in general, it's gorgeous yet restrained. Despite some missed opportunities, this is still superior stereo cinema. There is a Brazilian Blu-ray 3D with French audio and English subtitles.

Less composed thoughts on the rest:

Natalie - Good effort at creating an erotic 3D drama, but the story isn't told well enough to be involving. Park Hyeon-jin is a gorgeous woman though, and I enjoyed her performance. The 3D has excellent depth during the sex and dance scenes and flat depth during the boring drama. I read an interview where the director was under the impression that audiences wouldn't be able to handle good depth for an entire runtime. How silly. Natalie was a test run for a 3D picture that was never made.

The Good Dinsoaur - Pixar's best 3D ever. The characters seem less flat than usual, and they actually attempted a few safe pop-outs. I give them a small applause.

Epic - A decent FernGully/Avatar/The Borrowers-styled animated adventure. Very good depth. Needs more pop-outs.

Transformers: Age of Extinction - Mark Kermode summed this one up perfect, calling Michael Bay "the loudest common denominator of the apocalypse" and this movie "louder and longerer and biggerer" than everything else. The 3D is a big mix, from mediocre conversion to decent native work to strong animated CGI. The variations in quality are all very abrupt and obvious because everything converted and shot on film is in 2.39:1 and everything native is 1.78:1.

The Shock Labyrinth and The Rabbit Horror - Low-budget J-horror from director of The Grudge, Takashi Shimizu. Cinematography hero Christopher Doyle was surprise DOP for the second one. These movies are miserably bad. Watch them and laugh. The 3D is ace, however. If nothing else, you really have to see a clip where that stuffed rabbit backpack floats out of the screen--truly a 3D moment to remember.

Combo Viy and Vicky and the Treasure of the Gods 3D, both aided by Stereotec founder Florian Maier (also responsible for Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters 3D). I found Viy very poorly told with mostly awful converted 3D, mixed with flat-ish native 3D, mixed with a couple of moments of awesome CGI pop-outs. Vicky would make a great safe, fun adventure for young kids. It's 3D is all native with decent depth and a couple good CGI pop-outs.

Captain Harlock - I enjoyed this movie. Nice space sci-fi fantasy story. Pretty average 3D, but truly excellent job, considering 95% of it is conversion and from a foreign vendor. I don't quite understand why it costs so much to render a CGI movie in native 3D. Shouldn't that issue be irrelevant in the near future? Moore's Law or something.

009 Re:Cyborg - This is a perfect example of how awesome 2D-style animation can look in 3D. I wish more 2D animators would steal Kenji Kamiyama's methods and create their art with depth. It has a pretty cool sci-fi mind-bending story, based on real-life terrorism fears, but is also poorly told. There are too many scenes where the characters just sit around discussing their theories about what is going on for minutes on end. The action scenes are well done.

Goodbye to Language - Jean-Luc Godard's visual (not) instruction manual for filmmakers who want to make a 3D movie. David Bordwell called it the best 3D movie he's ever seen. Sure, whatever. This gave me the first inkling of a 3D headache I've had in a long, long time. (I'm ok with that.) Most of the film is just Godard taking a stereo issue, illustrating it with bad 3D composition, and then following it immediately after with a better composed take, and sometimes vice versa. All of this, shot in super depth on some cameras made out of dirt. (Those of you with luxury rigs have no excuse for bad 3D now.) It's pretty dry. I guess telling normal narrative stories no longer interests him. It is one of the rare films to use "blinkie 3D" where the images to each eye are different and you close one eye and pick the one you want to look at. I rather enjoyed that. Who else wants to see more genres in 3D after watching this? Erotic romance? Film-noir crime thriller? Live-action animal voice-over adventure? Also, I'm pretty sure Godard has a poop fetish.

The Mortician - Low-budget crime drama. This has a pretty unique "movie world". It's set in the present in a generic, poverty-stricken inner city with no police and where everything still looks like it's from the 1950s. All of this to artistically mesh with the main character who is stuck in the past and hasn't moved on from the loss of his mother as a child. It's a clever set-up. Most of the writing isn't as clever, however, but it still manages some emotional tug. The native 3D depth is middling adequate, but often filmed with a narrow depth of field, which kind of ruins the picture. It would be very pretty if they were shooting just a 2D film.

Static - This movie was dumb. I didn't like it's dumb characters or it's dumb end twist. The 3D is pretty decent. It maintains good depth and roundness--no pop-outs. It's very under-lit and hazy though, which works for the story, yet diminishes it's visual impact at the same time.

Bait - This was ok. It's about the quality of a made-for-TV movie. It's corny and one-dimensional, but the premise of having sharks encircling the survivors of a Tsunami, trapped in a supermarket holds up the entire film. It's the kind of thing where you pick out characters and predict whether they'll live or be eaten by sharks and laugh at their silly romances. The 3D is very mixed. Most scenes with big CGI set pieces (like the Tsunami) look awfully converted. There are some native shots with bad depth. There are some native shots with awesome depth. There are some super gimmicky pop-outs. It's trashy cinema supreme.

Found the 3D on this to be on the disappointing side, you get a handful of scenes that come out as decent. Still somewhat of an enjoyable ride, especially when they go after Medusa but they should never have killed off Mads Mikkelsen, he was part of what made the film worth watching.

I saw it in 2D when it came out. I enjoyed it though rest of my group did not. I never sought out the 3D version because I had heard that 3D was a poor conversion.

Now after your review, I think I need to see it again and in 3D this time.

Underworld: Bloodwars 3D: I've been waiting a while for this after returning the 4K version and heard a lot of negative comments about the 3D but I thought the 3D was fantastic. EVERY scene had multiple layers of depth and the picture was clean and sharp! I enjoyed this version MUCH more than the 4K version!

I've watched quite a few films this week but my pain levels have been so bad I can't manage to get out of bed so I'll try to write some more reviews when I start to feel better but I thought it was important to mention how much I like Bloodwars in 3D.

The French edition is the only English-friendly 3D version I know of: https://www.amazon.fr/Vic-Viking-mar...+viking+2+thor

It doesn't have the original German audio, but it does have an English dub and no forced subtitles.

Unfortunately, there's no easy option for this one (unless you don't mind dubbing). If you are savy and have a PC tricked out with a Blu-ray drive, you can make your own personal mux file with the German disc (my preference) and English subtitles available online.

For the most part, the 3D was quite adequate. Never did I think I was watching something flat except maybe when a few action shots were happening way too fast to follow.

When he goes to rescue the true blood line, that's when the 3D flourishes.

Great film, clever and heart warming. 3D used properly and helped further with the entertainment, including the few pop outs that I will admit, were at times hard on the eyes.

yeah, the U.S. distribution for The Young and Prodigious T.S. Spivet was handled so so poorly, I had to import the 3d version from Hong Kong as a result, and I'm glad I did because the 3d is amazing.

last week, I got my 1,000 title in the mail, it was Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in 3D, the 3d was decent, was a step down from the last two films that were shot in 3d, you can tell because of the shaky cam and hyper fast editing, which could take you out of the 3d because of it.

This week I got:
xXx: Return of Xander Cage in 3D (from Amazon)
My Life as a Zucchini (got it at Best Buy)

Waiting to come in the mail:
The Great Wall in 3D (preordered on bad panda shop, on the way from Hong Kong)

Got xXx: Return of Xander Cage in the mail from Amazon today, haven't seen it since I saw in the theater in 3D, can't wait to see it again.
