Any word on Lawrence of Arabia? Friend told me 1st Quarter 2009.

Footage was included in some of the Blu-ray promotional material more than a year ago! I'm not sure what's taking so long.

This will be glorious on Blu. Here's hoping for Bridge on the River Kwai too!

When this one comes out I'll buy it hands down. I may have to take a day off just to watch it on 'opening day'

I have a really nice Recent Special Edition that's in a nice 2-disc light brown (sand color - get it?!

) case. I watched it earlier this year in my decent/modest home theater -- 1st time ever seeing it btw -- and was BLOWN AWAY at the picture quality. I believe it had been remastered and such for this special DVD release, and it looked like it was filmed last year for the most part.

-- So, if this movie can look THAT good in regular DVD (and prob. better on a Blu-Ray PLAYER, as it would be upscaled a bit, right?), I can imagine how Amazing it'll look on BLU !!

Oh, and Bridge On The River Kwai - THAT too will be a great movie on Blu when that comes out. A great epic Classic film!

I've never seen Lawrence of Arabia (sacrilege, I know), but I have it on DVD. Should I watch the DVD now or wait and experience it for the first time on Blu?

isn't this the umpteenth thread about 'Lawrence of Arabia' - I thought it was pretty much common knowledge that Sony is releasing this in early 2010. For some of us who saw this on HDNet Movies - my jaw was on the floor.

Oh heavens...YES!!!! One of my all-time faves. This would be truly spectacular... I first experience this on VHS, when the extra footage was found and restored. Then later bought the excellent 2-disc DVD edition. Will GLADLY triple-dip on this for a stellar Blu transfer...

Well, I would prefer to wait and watch it for the first time in HD, but... 2010? That's a pretty long wait.
