I just watched Criterion's new release of Multiple Maniacs last night. It's not one of my favorites of his, but I enjoyed it quite a bit (I don't know if it's the spruced up presentation or maybe just my age/attitude -- it's been at least 10 years since I watched it last). It's still a bit amateurish and overly long, but if you go in with proper expectations, you might like it.

Found this at Meijer for $19.99. Not a huge savings over Amazon, but I was able to get it right away without having to wait for it to ship.

I enjoyed Serial Mom, Cry Baby, and Pecker.

As for his earlier work, I'm ok not watching someone eat dog shit.

Has anyone reached out to Scream to see if they're going to fix the issue?

Desperate Living has always been my favorite, it's hilarious EVERY TIME I watch it. It's missing the lovely Divine, but it's a hoot and works as a nice transition from his super low-budget flicks to his more polished ones that began with Polyester.

It's definitely my favorite of his earlier work. A Dirty Shame also has a special place in my heart.

Female Trouble is my favorite of Waters earlier films. I think Polyester is probably his funniest one, though.

So less than a second of footage is screwed up? Okay... if anyone's that ticked off about it, I'll gladly trade my UK blu for the Shout edition with slipcover.

I finally got around to watching my blu of Serial Mom and for the most part the "error" is not worth passing up on this or re-releasing the film. You can literally blink your eyes and not even know it's there. It's similar to the bad frame in the first run of The Running Man blu-ray. You could go years without knowing it's there I think.

That may be true but it's the principle behind the matter that their QC needs to be better. I know you are really looking forward to the upcoming Trespass blu ray. You wouldn't be bothered if it had a flaw when it shouldn't have had one?

its that type of thinking that makes Shout/Scream think its no big deal to screw up. When the original Halloween 2 came out people went crazy for the opening title to be changed from Universal presents to Moustapha Akkad presents and it was changed and replaced rapidly. again, not affecting the picture but basically text over black, seemingly 'not a big deal.'

Also, at least for me, it's a once-seen-can't-unsee kind of deal. I probably never would have noticed it, but now that I know it's there, I see it clearly and it bugs me.

I agree. I've seen it and already forgotten about it.
If you scratch the surface hard enough you're bound to find flaws in anything on the planet. This is where compromise enters the equation.

Completely ridiculous. Countless blu rays out there with no flaws.

And? I never said there weren't.
I could say crying over a split second is ridiculous.

Means there's no excuse for it. Even compromise.
