Here's a suggestion to all who might want to lose those ridiculous digibooks. (I posted this in another thread and then someone opened a new digibook thread, so here goes again).

I scanned a copy of the Shawshank digibook's front, back and spine. I printed the scans off on photo quality paper and after a little cutting and reassembling I then inserted it into an empty BD case.

VOILA!!

The whole process took very little time. Unless one decides to scrutinize the thing with any great intensity, you wouldn't at all be able to tell the difference between it and any other BD case on my shelves.

Of course, I'm keeping the original case in a drawer, but as far as my BD shelves are concerned... So long stupid-sexy digibooks.
I gotta a better one for ya...why dont you go and join a real nice cover site, pay for the credits and get artwork that is 10 times better than the standard covers.

Why should I pay when this cost me nothing and it looks great?

Ummm because you are helping to pay the cost for these wonderful artitsts to host a site. And their time and effort......

you are getting much better covers than you are getting on those free sites or by scanning the original artwork.

I've considered your response, and I'm left having to ask again.

Why should I pay when this cost me nothing and looks great?

You've got to give me something better than helping some poor starving artist. Besides all of that, if this were something I was going to hang on my wall, or proudly display for people to see, then "Yes" I would conisder that, but we're talking about a little Blu-ray case sitting on a shelf amidst other little Blu-ray cases. It boils down to uniformity among my cases (an intense dislike for the digibook) and a cheap way to remedy that.

Only problem with that is I've yet to come across a cover for "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" or "the Shawshank Redemption".

Personally I don't care really. If there's a custom cover I'll print it off and put it in a regular case, but otherwise I just stick it with the odd-sized boxsets. Right now I have Shawshank Redemption sitting between The Matrix Collection and the Spider-Man Collection.
