Default What speakers to get?

I purchased the onkyo 606 and I am debating between the Quintet™ III Klispch or the Polk set everyone here raves about.

That's a really good deal for that set. However, have you considered buying separates slowly and building them up?

That'd actually be a really good move in my opinion. If you can find the CS2 or CS1 at Circuit City, you can land a hell of a deal there. They're closing out those speakers.

I'd def start buying a better set slowly if I were you, you'll get more for you money and wont have to upgrade everything as often as you would with a HTIB.

If you have the patience to do so, indeed - save and buy better speakers (I would even buy better one's than the ones you previously stated). I would use this time to demo some awesome stuff at an audio boutique (translate - highend store not BB or CC). See what a full blown home cinema sounds like - use that experience as a reference and then look at my budget - find several good brands, demo them, and then buy the ones that sound closest to my highend reference.

I tried out the definitive speakers at bestbuy when they had that 10$ off blu-ray promo. I was blown away. I tried some polk 50's and they sounded great.

I might just purchase two polk 50's for the time being.

I just purchased a Bravia 46",Blu-Ray player,Onkyo 606,Stand

Current Setup

Might've gotten them packaged together. Best Buy has been running promos like that lately.

If you like the Klipsch Quintet III's then you should look at THESE Quintet II's since they're basically the same speakers and a heck of a lot cheaper.

I recommend taking a listen to B&W, Klipsch, and also the new Sunfire speaker system. You will find speakers in all price ranges and the quality is very good with these three brands.

I picked up polk m20's. for 129.99 each then I used a 40 bucks off coupon for the whole order.

I tested them out and they sounded great. I just finished watching Transformers with the TrueHd track in stereo mode. Speakers do a great job.

Polk CS1 $90
Polk Psw10 subwoofer $125
Polk R50 x2 $120 (frys)
Polk rm6751 surround x2 $88
or buy 2 more Polk r 50 x2 $120

all prices but polk r50 are from amazon

Total around $420 and you will have a good 5.1 system with polk rm6750 surround

Total around $460 and you will have 4 polk r50

I am looking at the monitor 30's for the rears,CS1, and the psw10.

I purchased the polk m20's for my fronts at CC today. I tested them out and they produced a great sound, just what I was looking for. Unfortunately I don't have a frys or another store like that.
