I agree. I check this page so I know what to buy NOW before the scalpers on ebay jack up the prices. Prices stay low if there is different editions still out. Glad I got Wing Commander and My Super Ex-Girlfriend when I did but kicking myself for missing Airheads and Bedazzled.

"The Crazies" is going to have a 4k release soon, I think it's from Arrow. Depending on how often you expect to watch it in the near future (there's no announced date yet), it might be worth listing it on ebay at a crazy-high price, one you couldn't say no to.

I've got a guy on Instagram wanting me to sell him my copy of Airheads (I post what I'm watching, pick ups, etc).... and I have no idea what to ask (muchless I'm not even sure if I want to sell), and I'm sure he's lowing balling me with offers of $45 and $65. If you guys were in this position, what would you do?

"low balling" when offering 45$ to 65$ for a single used blu-ray???????? (all the more for an average comedy and a mediocre barebones blu-ray)
Well... I don't live in the same galaxy obviously. If I were you I'd even offer expedited shipping to the poor guy and I'd even throw something in the packet as an extra (like another blu-ray). Last edited by Torrente; 06-08-2017 at 10:25 PM. |

You never know though. It all comes down to opinion on how much someone likes a film enough to pay whatever price for it. What's average/mediocre or even bad to one viewer might be excellent to another viewer and I highly enjoy Airheads. I've paid those prices for blu rays from third party sellers but it's because I really want the film. Frankly you'll never really know if he plans on turning around and selling it.

It's the first stage of OOP mania. Prices will come down, just like nearly all the Miramax/Echo Bridge ones besides Hellraiser: Deader.
If you find a good deal, you should only buy if you really want to own the movie, as flipping for a profit will probably bite you and you'll be lucky to break even down the road. Of course there some exceptions, I just don't see any of the movies being discussed as having huge cult followings or anything that would make them stay up in value, maybe Airheads, but that is still not a widely known film. Bedazzled? It's much better to just google stills of Liz in her demon bikini than sit through that junk (IMO) again! |

A sucker price is when you price something much higher than people are willing to pay, and don't mind keeping it listed for 6 months+ hoping a sucker will buy it. A realistic price is what you see on eBay sold listings. These are prices people normally pay for the disc. |

When I find OOP discs at pawn shops I always tend to price them in line with sold ebay listings, I want the movie to sell quickly. Recent sales of Waynes World 2, Cocoon, and other movies I had listed can attest to that.
Theres always the possibility that an item which was OOP will go back into print, driving prices down. So I tend to want to make quick sales. |

The few movies i bought with the intent to sell, i barely broke even and even then the work of listing it and going to the post office did not make it worth it...
Nowadays i just buy what i truly want and I never pay over $25 for any film regardless if is the first movie i watched when I was inside my mom's belly. There is no need to throw away money like that, just watch any of your other 500 movies in your collection until that one movie becomes available through re-release, Netflix/Hulu/Amazon/Cable or old fashioned over the air broadcast. |

A few pages back the movie The Pick Up Artist I just got refunded. Apparently Vintage Stock didn't have them in stock, sorry to those who ordered to be disappointed it was a gamble anyway. I wish these websites could be more accurate with their stock. Those OOP Starz/Anchor Bay/Fox BD's seem really hard to get now.
