I watched this last night. It was an odd experience listening to so much English-accented French being spoken, but at least the subtitles were reasonably decent (a few errors though - clay instead of day etc). They did clash with the 3D a little though, which was a bit of a shame, but to be expected. How hard is it to pop out subtitles more? Not very.

Anyway, I thought the 3D was decent - nothing spectacular but most of the action took place at screen level so there was often a bit of pop-out in front of the screen - faces, weapons etc (a bone was probably the best pop-out). It looked natural without any in-your-face elements, though there was a fair bit of CGI and of course any time anyone drunk the magic potion their faces popped off the screen looney tunes style. Separation was fine, best exemplified in some cliff jumping scenes. Nice floating diamonds in the opening credits too. After so long without an English-friendly release I'm glad I got to see this in the end.

I found it on Amazon.com and I paid a lot more than I should have done, but I'm too lazy to find a cheap way of ordering from Brazil. It was posted from Brazil though, I'm not sure how legitimate it is but it's not on a BD-R at least.

In the interests of full disclosure I have to say that I noticed that the picture did seem to, I don't know, speed up for a second four or five times (as if it was streaming) but I was enjoying the movie and didn't want to mess about rewinding it or testing it in my PS3. It stayed in sync throughout in any case, and may have been a player issue, but it's a movie I never thought I'd get to see so I'm not fussed.

I rather enjoyed the subtle depth the 3D added to Man of Steel. Still visually strong and engaging. No huge pop-outs. Glad I double dipped for it.

Tiny Giants.

3D adds so much to these nature documentaries. This was great, especially considering the creatures were in their natural elements and maybe just two or three inches tall.

Highly recommend.

Hope you also watch the "special feature" on the "tiny Giants 3D" Blu-ray 3D disc! "The Making of tiny giants" has STRONG native-3D like the feature, and it was as entertaining and educational as the main 3D feature!

Hi Paul

WE INDEED DID! Immediately because we wanted to continue watching whatever we could get. The documentary was so good.

Unusual for extras to be so well done in 3D. It was like an extension of the feature.

Just watched a wonderful, heart warming film, "Dolphin Tale".

BTW - the 3D was just as good as the story, which was based on true events.

Put in an order with Amazon UK: $81 shipped.

Underworld BW 3D, Resident Evil FC 3D, The Great Wall 3D, Maleficent 3D

At one point, I had BFG 3D in the cart. But apparently that one is region locked.

Watched Rio 3D with the family. After a bit of a slow start, the movie eventually gets moving.

The animation and 3D also seem to get a bit more involved in the latter half of the film, which is good.

There's a number of shots which come off very well in 3D, which is nice to see. Decent movie overall.

There's also an Ice Age 3D short (?) that plays before the movie. I don't think it was a trailer...

It's a Universal release so I would say it will definitely be region free as every UK 3D disc from Universal has been region free and I doubt this one would be any different. It is out this coming Monday here in the UK so I could certainly try and confirm for you for sure then.

How is Donnie Yen in this? Is he a villain and does he have some good fight scenes?

To answer that first question would be to be a spoiler, and yes he does have good action scenes.

Donnie Yen gets a lot of screen time and has plenty of good fight scenes.
