And a nice contrast.

Since
[Show spoiler] FWWM is a recent newsletter clue, It's more than likely to be coming out this year. It would be odd to put out the Lynch doc in September, and FWWM in say Oct/Nov/Dec. Not unheard of obviously for them to do something like that with a director, but I feel like both titles would benefit from being paired together, as both wouldn't be super strong sellers on their own in my opinion. Even together, they're probably hard sells for many.
We should know in an hour or two

You have to be in a committed, serious mood to watch his work, which many of us aren't most of the time (I'm sure as hell not). I didn't have a huge problem getting through "Stalker", which is my favorite film of his. "Solaris" is glacially paced, even though I felt it was incredibly worth it by the end. "Andrei Rublev" is a challenge to sit through at points, but still feels worth it after the 3+ hours. "Ivan's Childhood" can be watched in any state of mind though. It's a great film and also reasonably accessible, as mentioned above.
I agree fully with this view. I've found myself too tired or asleep to take on a Tarkovsky film lately...although I also think I'm never ready for Tarkovsky. Some directors are just too deep for us.

I agree. Tarkovsky is the deepest director that I've come across.

Every time I finish one of his films I feel incredibly ignorant and clueless about everything.

I am very excited for this! Can't wait to see what special features they offer. I know there are other docs that can be found on youtube which have been previously available on DVDs and such...

One was around the time of
[Show spoiler]Lost Highway that even went a bit into his art at the time. Much like the Lynch: One doc.

Yeah,
[Show spoiler]Pretty as a Picture: the Art of David Lynch. The stuff from Lynch: One badly needs to be rereleased too, preferably as extras alongside an Inland Empire release.

That is a damn good question. I can't figure out why they didn't release it at the same time they released A Touch of Zen. I know this isn't likely, but hopefully the delay is because they are going to do a sister release with either New Dragon Gate Inn or Goodbye, Dragon Inn.
