Default Polk RTi 8/10 vs Monitor 70

So i should be able to get my setup by christmas but originally i was gonna do

Monitor 60's
CS2 center
Mintor 40's

newegg had the monitor 60's in cherry for like $140 each but they cant seem to keep stock on them so im thinking i might have to get the monitor 70's (not that thats a bad thing) but the monitor 70's are like $200 each and the RTi 8's are $200 each and the RTi 10s are $280 each. whats the difference between the Monitor 70's are the RTi8's and is it worth $80 each to get the RTi10's (hell the 12's are $350 each)

Also id imagine if i got the RTi fronts i could use the CS2 center or Monitor 40's in the rear? which in that case would driver the overall cost of my system up alot because the RTi rears and center are alot more

It all depends on how much you wanna spend the rti and rti a series are a significant step over the monitors but the monitors are great sounding speakers.Depending on your room size and receiver and also your prefered listening volume you will be happy just going with the monitors. You can mix and match every thing except your front sound stage and be fine.Since the monitors are such highly regarded speakers it is fairly easy to resell them when you are ready to up grade.

Buy ALL Polk Audio gear here. It's Polk's eBay store so you're definitely safe if you're eBay shy. Plus, PayPal is awesome for any online purchase. If you don't like how things are going, simply cancel with PayPal or file a dispute. Thankfully, I've never to do either. eBay is better than ever with a much improved search engine, great prices, great support, easy payment, and safe transactions compared to years gone by.

yeah like i said though the monitor 70's and rti8's seem to overlap in price, so knowing they are the same price would u take the rti8's over the monitor 70's. Isnt it kinda the high end of 1 series, vs the entry level of another, so which is better? (or at least how do they differ)

Yeah, Polk refurbished the speakers and are selling them themselves.
