Will let you know how it goes. Have a good weekend.

Wouldn't the PSVR be much better? It's newer and has a higher resolution.

Any personal discrete 3D viewer will produce separate left & right images that put to rest the question of image crosstalk. The later models will have advancements in quality and performance.

I wonder what the cry babies that have fits over 3D glasses think about this.

Passengers looks great on my new (2015) Samsung 40".

Some moments of real depth and pop. Not amazing but pretty good, to the point where I think not watching it in 3D would be a waste of time. The movie is cheesier than it should be, but interesting to see nods to everything from 2001 to The Shining. Just too bad it's as "mainstream" as it is. Could have been more interesting.

I need to figure out if it's possible to make this HD monitor not do what I've seen on HD displays in stores, which is to make film look as smooth as video. I just got this, but it's one thing I've noticed on high-end displays. I'm used to smaller/cheaper displays.

I feel like I should just buy these movies opening week from now on because I'm tired of getting screwed over waiting for double dips or price drops >
Word of advice: You will most always get a better deal pre-ordering titles. I learned that the hard way. It's especially true if you insist on getting a slipcover because the pre-order price almost always starts low and then immediately goes up a bit following the release. If you are willing to wait months you might find a better deal but if it sells out or you must have a slipcover (which is mandatory for me) you will end up paying a premium.

I visit Amazon everyday and pre-order anything new that pops up. Unlike Best Buy, there is no risk because your card won't be charged a penny and you can cancel at any time with no penalty (but you lock ANY price drop that occurs). Best Buy places a hold on your card for the amount of the purchase. The hold drops off after a week or so but Best Buy will randomly re-charge the hold multiple times (with no warning) up until the release date. If you have lower credit limits (like me) that hold came be a catastrophe when budgeting.

I keep an Excel spreadsheet that I log all of my pre-orders into, organized by release date, to help myself budget properly. If interested I'd be glad to show you! I'm disabled and can't work so budgeting is essential for me.

Loved it! Some really nice medium-strong to strong 3D here. Some nice pop outs as well. Not an Oscar caliber type movie but just a cool popcorn flick to turn your mind off to.

Well I checked out the info, price and stuff on the Sony Z2 for around $589. These don't have headphones, still after reading reviews and Q&A @ Amazon I'll stick with what I have. Samsung 51 inch Smart HDTV 3D(2014). I also have a nice Marantz AV Reciever which I use headphone outlet for watching 3D only at night(Dark). I use wired(Bluetooth not good for movies, it's a lip-synching thing) YOGA CD 2500 Wooden Cup, Over The Ear, Leather Cushioned Pads, HEADPHONES and believe me ain't no speaker set-up can beat these when it comes to a movie theater sound, I just plug 'em into my Marantz and it does all the rest. My active(USB Recharge) Samung glasses fit perfectly under my headphones and the headphones actually help hold the glasses in place. I can watch and listen for hours and they aren't uncomfortable. Food, drink, and bathrooms breaks are enough of a break useing these together. I just watched Malificent tonight and the movie/ sound was fantastic, great immersive depth thruout and no ghosting and I rated it a high 9. Sayonara.

It's a shame you are not a gamer (I presume?) as the Playstation VR is a great back up for 3D.

Well I agree with all you have written, I've been an Amazon Prime customer for years and they have always treated me fair and square. Heck they even back up the Market Place transactions if there is a problem. Sayonara.

Finally watch Independence Day Resurgence last night. Was waiting for a price drop and at $15.00 though why not. Not sure why all the negative reviews, I thought it was pretty good....

Turn off any motion interpolation and use movie mode or just make sure it's set to 24fps instead of 60fps.
Turn Automotion off.

Well, that really ****** me off! It's the same with VR, potentially we could go anywhere or experience anything but many ***** because we have to wear a headset.

'Ohhhhh no, I would look silly on Facebook or Snapchat' I can't be wearing that! It will spoil my hair and my pretty face. Who wants amazing immersive experiences when I can be poking my phone most of the day and deleting selfie after selfie until I get the perfect shot!

For the record, VR is AWESOME.

Can you explain what VR is and what displays/TVs can it be used with? Do you just repalce your regular 3D glasses with VR and just watch your favorite 3D movies?

You don't use a display with it, you use a Playstation 4. Or if you have a mobile headset, you slot your mobile into the headset. The ability to watch 3D Blurays is only possible with the Playstation VR headset. You watch on a flat screen in front of your eyes. The screen image is obviously blown up so the picture is not quite as sharp as a projector or state of the art tv but it's still very good and you have the advantage over tv with a huge screen. The biggest screen setting is about the equivalent of a 100+ inch screen.
Depth is very good and the pop out is excellent. On the biggest screen setting, the pop out will be touching your nose. It also has the benefit of zero crosstalk or ghosting (as Paul H mentioned). Is it a replacement for a projector for 3D? No, not quite. What it is, is a excellent standby.
Comfort wise, the PS headset is fine. I can spend a couple of hours in the headset without issues.

Oh by the way, you don't need 3D glasses as the headset itself is the viewer. Your tv doesn't need to be switched on tomwatch the 3D as the headset is connected to the player (the PS4)
Don't worry if you wear glasses, you can adjust the viewer to fit your glasses perfectly.

VR is basically 3D but all around your vision. Unlike the 3D film mode which is a flat screen (similar to cinema) games and VR video are all around your vision. . It is incredible tech and I am at this point completely absorbed by it!

No TV or display is needed with this VR. You plug the headset to the PS4 and watch.

With the headset, you have your screen. . All you need is a PS4 attached to the headset and obviously a 3D Blu-ray Disc.

You could switch off the tv that is setup with your PS4 and you would still get the video through your headset. the only time you would need the tv switched on is to get the audio from the tv speakers but if you are immersed in 3D with the headset, you really should be using headphones to go with it!
