Will I get my 5 free titles? - Blu-ray Forum

i bought a PS3 at the beginning of July and sent in the form for the 5 free bluray movies but im starting to wonder if their going to send them to me. Because i sent in a copy of the receipt, but i didnt send in the actual UPC from the box, i wrote the UPC code on the paper. I didnt want to damage the box in case i had to take it back. Anyone else do this offer? Think i will get them?

Don't know for sure, but my guess is no. Most rebates are specific to following the directions perfectly and one of the instructions is to include the original UPC from the box. They may decide to be cool about it though, who knows.

I doubt you'll get the movies, but hopefully they'll do you a solid and correspond with you instead of just throwing away your info.

I believe they need the actual UPC from the box to prevent people from scamming: i.e. taking the box back and getting a refund. No retailer will take a box back without the UPC (SKU, or whatever it is called these days).

I made colored copies of the covers, then sent in the UPCs from the copies. I did this for the $10 rebates that I got with my PS3. Worked like a charm.

thats exactly why i didnt want to cut it off, the official instructions says to include "The original UPC code located on the outside of the player package" i dont see anything about physically taking the UPC off

well i have till sept. 31st to send another one in if i dont get them.
