I wasn't a fan of the original Blade Runner either when I first saw it (keep in mind, I first saw the theatrical cut). Once I saw the final cut, that's when I started to become a big fan of the film. But it's not uncommon for people to dislike Blade Runner in their first viewing. Blade Runner got mixed reviews from critics when it first came out back in 1982, and I know a lot of people that felt the same way. So it's a film that you really have to let it sink in for awhile. Also if you never seen Blade Runner and don't know what version to watch, watch the final cut.

I've only seen the director's cut of the original film and I feel really unfulfilled by not seeing the final cut. Hope I can get to this in the future.

I'm pretty sure Warner nowadays is only releasing the Final Cut of Blade Runner to retailers, since that's the quintessential version of the film.

Funny story, I went to a midnight screening of Watchmen when it first came out, and after a trailer for X-Men Origins: Wolverine played, a friend of mine yelled "F**K THIS MOVIE!...It got Gambit in it", some people just want to be the center of attention most of the time.

Prior to his recent critical resurgence (a la Split), any trailer with Shyamalan's name would get anything from melodic boos to synchronised groans.

Some people actually prefer the theatrical cut. I, however, dislike the theatrical cut for obvious reasons.

I never understood that (nor was I even aware of the bad reviews until relatively recently). I was 11 years old when Blade Runner came out and I loved, loved, loved it! Still remember seeing it in the theater, like it was yesterday. All of my friends were into it as well and we would regularly rent the VHS tape. Granted, we were all Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark nerds, too, and were bound to like anything with Harrison Ford in it.

I m very excited for this,

Denis movies definetaly have atmosphere which I think within other
things are the main ingredient for Blade Runner,

I only have one worry from the trailers.... some scenes are way TOO YELLOW! it kind of hursts the eyes.
