Just the slow motion Quicksilver scene alone more than makes up for any of the other shortcomings this movie had.

I'm glad to get some positive reinforcement for my decision to buy X-Men Apocalypse 3D.

Anyone have anything to say about Terminator Genisys 3D? It is another maybe on my list.

My take: Terminator Genisys has good 3D, great audio (especially if you have Atmos), is reasonably entertaining but not especially memorable (it's no Terminator 2). I'd give it a buy recommendation. Also a buy on X-Men Apocalypse, which I personally liked somewhat better.

Apparently, the current low UK price is with a marketplace vendor who doesn't do USA.

Anyway, I had to delete it from my cart and got only Beauty & the Beast 3D and R.I.P.D 3D.
Yep, I've run into that. Amazon UK doesn't make it easy to choose sold & fulfilled by Amazon but that is what you have to do - SIGH.

I love Terminator Genysis, absolutely fantastic 3D too. It's basically like a Marvel version of a Terminator movie. If you can stomach that then it's definitely worth checking out. Loads of cool action and fx, a fun riff on the original movie. Personally I found it a blast. Just don't expect anything dark and gritty. As a cg fuelled sci fi spectacle it's very entertaining.

Received my Mantalab Lego Batman Movie 3D steelbook today. I'll have to open it up sometime soon and give it another viewing.....saw it in 3D in the theaters and loved it.

Went to a local pawn shop, they had a 2 for $7 on bluray so I picked up Underworld 5 ( so sad 3D wasn't with the 4k) and they had American Mummy 3D....

even though the movie was shot in 3d, there were not a lot of standout moments

Nice. I've seen it in pancake mode but didn't know there was a 3D version. Let us know how effective the 3D is. So many of horror releases are crappy German auto-conversions but this looks promising. I'm always looking to add more horror titles to my collection!

Though not a big fan of the series, just watched Underworld Awakening.

Won't comment about the movie itself because as said, I'm not a fan and so it would not be fair, though the action was good. The 3D was enjoyable, above mediocre but no spectacular moments that stood out except for momentary drops of ice or blood coming at ya.

Dead Before Dawn doesn't throw its 3D out at you but instead positions everything at the screen level rather than behind it, so you get a strong sense of dimensionality all the way through. Some great separation too. I have the German edition, thankfully Germans like horror and 3D so both this and Hellbenders got decent Region B releases there.

While I'm on the subject of lesser-known real 3D horror films, here are some other interesting ones you can only get from Germany:

There are less interesting/effective ones too:

Thanks 13thman I definitely need to pick some of those up.

Banshee Chapter is fantastic and the 3D is wonderful.

Thanks for this as it could be some time before I get to view it.
I had lasik eye surgery just over a month ago and haven't watched any 3D movies because my eyes (physiology) are still adjusting.
Dead Before Dawn 3D was a Best Buy exclusive here in states which makes it harder to find now.

Watching:

This wasn't a film that necessarily screamed to be seen in 3D, but as a POTA fan I wanted it in 3D all the same.

I'm not sure if this is a conversion or what, but I can see the case where folks might be underwhelmed by this 3D. It has a kind of pop-up book quality. Fair amount of depth, but not always a whole lot to differentiate backgrounds and foregrounds. No strong pop-out effects. But I still find it pleasing to watch--the picture is very clear and sharp with no evidence of ghosting.

This movie holds up well too. Rise didn't really wow me now like it did back in 2011--Dawn is cinematically eloquent, thematically deep, and pathologically evocative.

Dawn is a natively shot 3D movie and is notorious around these parts for its conservative 3D.
