LCD/DLP question re: Resolutions i/p

Never is it a CRT based set, yet they say oh I have the DLP model XXXXXX 1080i, or the LCD or Plasma model XXXXXX but not the 1080p I have the 1080i version.

Is this ingnorance? I thought all Digital displays were progressive, and therefore if it's not 1080p it's 1280x720p, 1366 x768p or I've even seen 1440x768p. I have never seen any plasma or LCD etc that is 1080i.

The numbers you mention are it's native resolutions. The LCD's, DLP's, and Plasma's you mention, have a native resolution of 720p, but are capable of displaying a 1080i image. In order to get FullHD or 1080p, a set's native resoultion would have to be 1920x1080. Just for the record, I have a CRT Samsung 30" widescreen tv.
