I watched the 2nd trailer last night and I really feel this will be near the top of my list by years end. HoHW and Sicario were two of my favorites of their respective years so I already know I love Taylor Sheridan's writing. Curious to see how he does behind the camera.

Finally saw the trailer for this in front of Dunkirk. Sitting up close and seeing "a rape" in the rating description made me cringe. I hope it's not too graphic. So what's the release going to be with this? Wide on August 4th? Or limited and slow rolled out?

'Wind River' is playing at a single theater in our area. If it's available in your area, do yourself a favor and go see it! The unfolding story is a real edge-of-the-seat thriller. I believe Renner will be nominated for Best Actor for this role. Yes, he's that good.

HIGHLY recommended. The Booth Bijou gives 'Wind River' 5 out of 5 stars. We will most definitely be showing this in the Booth Bijou Garage Theater when the Blu-ray is released.

BTW, our showing was pretty much sold out and the audience applauded at the end of the film.

This was a quite good film, but not as excellent as Hell or High Water, let alone Sicario, imo. It's about as good as you could hope for from a first-time director.

Very beautifully shot, and quite interesting, if a tad on the predictable side.

There's a shot of Elizabeth Olsen in a thong, if that kind of thing interests you. But it lasts only about half a second, and it's fairly up close, so it may well be a double. Either way, it's somewhat gratuitous, which is my favourite kind of nudity, so that's nice.

My theater in Nashville tn is getting wind river this week. They have early shows on Thursday.

Last Saturday. went to see "Wind River" starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen. This film was written and directed by Taylor Sheridan who wrote "Hell or High Water" and "Sicario." I loved HoHW (2nd best film of 2016 for me, behind Hacksaw Ridge) and Sicario. All I can say is that Sheridan has done it again, this time as director as well as writer. This is, by far, the best film I have seen all year. Renner is great, as usual, in a more controlled kind of tension than he usually exhibits but by no means less lethal, and it works perfectly. Olsen is excellent and shows she can handle a lead role with the best of them. Strong support is provided by Graham Greene (Dances With Wolves) and Gil Birmingham (Hell or High Water). The writing is spot on as is the direction. Without a doubt, my first 5/5 for 2017. Can't wait for the Blu release.

My theater finally got this starting tonight. I of course had to hit up the first showtime...been dying to see this. Seriously Taylor Sheridan is on my list of "if I see his name I'm in". Everything the guys touches that I've seen is gold. Sicario and Hell or High Water were favorites of mine for their respective years....this is no exception. The movie is quiet, slow, and beautiful and it builds to one hell of a tense climax. Pretty sure I let out an audible "oh s***" once or twice. Also my God Nick Cave and Warren Ellis make wonderful scores. Their score was like a character in the movie itself. Many quiet parts with just the music to guide you along....loved it. Can't wait to buy the movie and score.
