Traded a 2nd round pick and 2 4th round picks for him last year. Don't let him play one down and then trade him for a 4th round pick . Horrible job bills.

He was drafted for Rex's 3-4 defense and tore his ACL last year during camp. It became clear this year that he wasn't a good fit for McDermott's 4-3 because he lacked the speed necessary to cover space. He has been running with our 3rd team and only got a few snaps the other night. He wasn't making our final 53, and we got a 4th Round pick versus cutting him outright. That's a pretty big win for us.

Regarding the flooding in Houston... The Texans are still in Dallas. The Thursday preseason game is not likely to be played in Houston. The Astros may play the Rangers in another city???

The Texans Org. has donated $1 Mil to the Houston United Way. Soon after Jerry Jones also donated $1 Mil, and Robert Craft also donated $1Mil. JJ Watt has also raided $500,000 through his charity.

Not sure if you refuse to refer to the Texans by their proper name or if you think they are still the Oilers, but the city of Arlington has announced the Texans-Cowboys game will be at AT&T Stadium rather than Houston. The NFL has not confirmed that but it seems like a no-brainer. The Astros-Rangers series will be played in St. Petersburg at Tropicana Field and it's possible the Astros-Mets series might be played in St. Pete as well.

As expected, Stafford is now the NFL's highest paid player.

Lions signed QB Matthew Stafford to a five-year, $135 million extension through 2022.
Derek Carr lasted a little over two months as the league's highest-paid quarterback. Stafford now holds that distinction, and he won't sit at the top for long, either. Quarterbacks salaries are getting outrageous, and whoever is the next competent one up for a new deal immediately becomes the richest. This is good news for Kirk Cousins, Matt Ryan, Aaron Rodgers, and Drew Brees, who are all going to get new deals sooner than later. Stafford is still just 29 and is coming off back-to-back strong seasons as he enters his prime. One a health risk early in his career, Stafford hasn't missed a start since 2010. He's already made over $110 million before this deal. Stafford is inked through his age-34 season.

Stafford just left a TON of money on the table to. I would have held out a year played next year or 2 under the franchise tag like Cousins did he would have made an additional 50 million doing that. 135 million for a non playoff winning QB thats hilarious.

You'd look old too if you played for that franchise (says the NYJ fan...I know, I know).

$135M.... $92M guaranteed along with a $50M bonus. He didn't leave anything off the table. And he doesn't deserve anything more. Why dick around the team instead of helping it and allowing them to save room for other players?

And he'll get his wins. I know I've been highly critical of him in the past but there's not a better option, and the guy can ball when needed.

He did leave a ton of money on the table

50 Guaranteed from holding out and playing under tag, by that time Ryan, Cousins, and Rogers resign at age 32 he still would have gotten a 5 year deal probably in the neighborhood of 32/year by that time and 110 Guaranteed which would have netted him 160 million so yeah he left money at the table. If the Lions didn't pay him someone like Cleveland would have.

And there's no point in being selfish... help the team acquire other players. Be like Brady.

If Stafford plays out this deal he'll have made about $246 million and he'll only be 34. Right now Peyton Manning is the highest-paid NFL player in history and he made about $248 million (although Eli Manning will pass his brother by about $4 million if he plays out his current deal), so Stafford has a great chance at becoming the highest-paid player in history. Matt Ryan will likely pass both Mannings as well if he stays healthy.

Stafford only left money on the table if you "know" in a couple years he will look just as good as he did this last season. All it takes is one injury to a key player and Stafford's future prospects may not have been anywhere near this deal.

What the hell have I done, I'm almost a Cowboy's fan by proxy this season after last nights draft in which I took Zeke in late round 2, Dez in round 3 and winding up with Dak for my qb after someone sniped my first choice of Rivers in like round 10.
