They're the exact same 480p video. I compared my 25th to 30th editions a few months ago and really couldn't tell a difference when upscale does through my UHD player.

I realize that 2007 was only 10 years ago, and it should have been shot, edited, and mastered in HD at the time, but that doesn't mean it was.
It's well documented that Warners has been sitting on a HD source for DANGEROUS DAYS for years.

The DVD is slightly superior when it comes to Dangerous Days, you can tell whenever there's any text on the screen. There isn't a huge difference but the DVD is a better encode.

The shortened version was on the BBC a few years back in HD.

OK looks like I'll be buying the 4k even thought I do not own 4k tv/player. Unless someone convinces me otherwise.

Am I misreading it or is that reviewer just reviewing on a 1080p projector?

Yeah it's been brought up before he has a faux 4K projector which is cool but a review should be on direct view monitor at 4K with HDR as well.

Has this been asked yet...the 1080p BD with this set, is it the 2007 existing disc or is it a new 1080p remastered BD?

One thing that comes to mind regarding all this typical Warnering™ with the 4K extras is just why IS there a separate 'Special Edition' 4K release for the UK? As the dust is starting to settle it appears that the UK is the only territory that's getting two Blade Runner 4K editions, so I'm thinking why bother with doing a separate one at all unless it's actually got the 3 BDs that are advertised?

I see that too. The letters of any titles (and there are quite a few) look definitely botched in the 480i encode on the Blu-Ray, as if every other line was missing only for the letters. Other than that, the image seems fine.

Strange and distracting artifact.

(1) 480i from DVD (briefcase edition), (2) 480i from Blu-Ray (30th anniversary edition) -- it's not the precise same frame and image crop

That's exactly what I thought, and I opened this thread to look for an answer.
What could be so special about it, besides a different packaging? Zavvi still had the same listing for the specs (from which we can't draw too many conclusions....).
But...amazon uk has a pic up now, it contains the book, just like the French version:

I dont have my blu-ray at hand, so I can't compare the disc art with the existing discs. However, they do differ from the disc art of the French release:

Thoughts?

Edit: it cleary states '4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray + Digital' on the UK version. No mention of DVD's.....

Make that Final Cut BD a BD-50, too.

Didn't realise Amazon UK had a new pic up. Notice how they've butchered the cover art with all those banners. BUT the disc art matches the 30th Anniversary Edition. I'm hoping that the UK set might be the exception that actually contains what it advertises.

Yep, those discs do indeed appear to be the 30th anniversary discs (but now a DVD logo has migrated onto the spine of the cover). Could this be true? Could Warners actually get it right? News at 11.
