And, yes, there most certainly were sound effects missing during the presentation last night.

And, FYI, the changes from the Blu-ray's (including the rock in front of R2) were all present, as was the 20th Century Fox logo. Granted, Disney doesn't own that one yet but...
Well that's too bad and IMO, a ripoff. A major venue should NEVER be playing a Blu-ray. I don't know about that particular building, but there are concert halls at Lincoln Center that are equipped for DCP projection, Alice Tully Hall, where they usually hold the NY Film Festival, for one.

I saw a 30th anniversary screening of Jedi at BAM 4 years ago. They projected the Blu-ray. I believe we even saw the little "play" symbol in the corner of the screen when it started.

This is Star Wars. Unless you're seeing film, it's probably a blu-ray.

For those that want to check out the program...

The Force Awakens, a sequel that arrived 22 years after Return of the Jedi... nice that they couldn't even get that right!

I still can't believe they've literally just dropped the prequels from this show.

You can't drop something that was never there to begin with.

I don't see you *****ing about Rogue One not being included...

I think you'll find the prequels are quite part of the saga, so I don't understand your comment. They've very much been dropped in this situation. Also, the concert is the saga films, Rogue One isn't part of the episode saga, it's a standalone spin off, and it's not even composed by John Williams (and btw, I actually really like the score). Going by your rationale, I should be annoyed that they're not doing the score for The Clone Wars either.

Why are you so pee'd off and bitter about my comment? Are you not even slightly annoyed they're just ignoring almost half of John William's amazing Star Wars scores?

WTF, I'm not taking away his enjoyment of it, I'm only saying what I see. I didn't say the concert was a bad thing, or a waste of time, or that he was wrong to have a good time and enjoy it. Can people not express opinions about anything nowadays, without it being seen as hating? They've clearly dropped the prequels, they're the ones who've crapped upon the saga, not me. Where on earth did I say it wasn't good enough for me, talk about putting words in my mouth?

Blunt truth...LucasFilm isn't throwing the Prequels into the bin. But they aren't shining a light on them, either. the OT is about victory and atonement, the PT is about everything going to hell. The ST might be somethng else. Ask yourself honestly...what would you prefer to sell and market? Tragedy? Or hope?

I'd rather they just sold and marketed what they bought, the Star Wars 6 film saga. Empire is a tragedy, yet they still sell that. The story is what it is, why try to hide it, other than to avoid the prequel backlash? You're not telling me that if the prequels had been critically acclaimed and hugely popular, they'd still be doing this? I very much doubt it.

I understand why, obviously, but I still think it's pretty bad to disregard 3 of the Star Wars saga film scores just because of this. I also don't much like being told by certain posters above (not you ) that I'm "crapping all over" it, and that the concert is "not good enough" for me, just by mentioning their exclusion. But that's Star Wars fans for ya, or TFA fans anyway.

Oh my goodness....because the prequels suck as films, especially as Star Wars films. How many years and threads do we have to keep going over this. You like them fine but they will always be considered by the masses as fodder, the films and the scores. The only thing even memorable about the prequels is Duel of the Fates and Darth Maul. That's it, nothing else is even redeemable out of three efforts.

The Prequels are downers, Rogue One is a downer, The Last Jedi might be kind of a downer. Here's to happy endings.

They have not been dropped. To drop something means to delete it or no longer include it. And they were never included in this program to begin with, unless you have some insider information that you're willing to share that disproves that.

They're simply not a part of this. You may look at that as semantics but it's the truth.

And, no, I'm not even SLIGHTLY annoyed that they're not included. I'm thrilled, actually. It makes complete sense.

Blunt truth - the prequels suck, as films, by and large.

Blunt truth - the prequels suck so much that they KNEW they wouldn't be able to sell them as programs as this thing tours around the world. Feel free to deny that but if they could make a buck off of it, they would. It simply won't sell seats.

Blunt truth - while the score is, by far, the best part of the prequels, Lucas mercilessly chopped them up, tracked them in and made them pale in comparison to what was originally written and composed. Listening to an isolated score of them is not the way it should be done, as evidenced by the 2CD release of Phantom Menace.

Blunt truth - hope and happiness have nothing to do with this. 3 of the 4 movies are playing for 2 nights only. 1 of the 4 is playing for 3 nights. That movie is the Empire Strikes Back, the least hopeful and "happy" of the 4.

Jesus, Indy...I was trying to travel lightly. When I was at DI, the attitude was they weren't going to do anything to show disrespect for the Prequels, but they weren't going to do anything to remind people of them, either.

hahaha I know. Any of the ire was certainly not directed towards you.

I'm of the mindset that, once Lucas dies, feel free to completely re-make them from the ground up. Hell, I'd be happy if they did it now. He sold the company and they're allowed to do what they like with it. Give us a story that we deserve.

Sorry about that. All the negativity get to me sometimes.

Prequel fans hating on the new movies. Fans of the new movies hating on the prequels. Fans who only like the originals hating on everything else.

People who have no problem giving the harshest descriptions imaginable to the aspects they do not like while at the same time crying tears of hater abuse when someone says anything about what they do like. That hypocrisy really gets to me.

I remember when it was a playful banter between Star Wars vs Star Trek. Now this Star Wars vs Star Wars really gets to me. I don't care for the prequels, but I certainly don't bash people who do.

Maybe The Last Jedi will be more uniting. Maybe it will be this fourth season of Rebels. I love where Star Wars is at right now, and I am trying to enjoy it all. Life is too short.
