Oh my, now that would be a fine deal. Last I checked, my local store had a few of the titles you have listed Cardman, but not a huge amount. I hope they add a bunch to the shelf. At least this location has them in actual Blu-ray cases, another store nearby re-packages them in SD cases with fugly homemade Blu covers.

Rhylliam, the one on St. Anne's Rd and off Dakota Rd both use the real Blu cases. I noticed you were a Winnipegger too

the BB on Panet sells them with the real blu cases as well, the bad thing is that they throw the digital copies out, so if you are buying a movie that supposed to come with a digital copy, you might not get one.

The Panet location is the one closest to me, so I noticed this too... Blockbuster and Rogers mostly purchase "rental versions" of certain titles, mainly ones that would normally be 2 discs incl. digital copy. The packaging on their Lionsgate titles usually states 'Special Edition' instead of 2-Disc Special Edition once DC is eliminated, plus the cover does not have the shiny border.

So does this previously-viewed sale coincide with any specials on NEW Blu-rays, similar to the $9.99 deals at all?

My local BBV (Trafalgar Rd & Marlborough Court in Oakville) will NOT have HELLBOY II. They say they only received 3 Blu-ray copies for rental, so it won't likely make the PV sale.

If anyone in Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington finds this as part of the deal, I would be most obliged if you could let me know.

Hmm, I may have to hit that one sometime soon, thanks. Its the Henderson & Springfield store that does the case swap.

Laziness/stupidity is my guess. 2 stores close to me have them on the rental shelves in SD cases with BBV's own art, but only one of these locations actually put the discs back in the original cases for PV sales. Maybe that 1 store throws the old cases away or something, or maybe they do want to have them tagged with their own barcodes etc. Dunno.

hey snyderman, it is a question i'm often asked.. but no, unfortunately the buy 2 get 1 free does not apply to blu-ray, but thats why their coming out w/ this 2 for $30 deal for blu-ray cuz customers are getting tired of only reg dvd deals and BB realizes they need to start caterings their used movie sales for blu-ray as well. but yeah to answer your question, for right now only the 2 for $30 applies to blu-ray, not the buy 2 get 1 free. (thats only for reg dvd)

and to respond to someone else's question about why some blockbusters rent or keep their movies in reg dvd cases.... its for security/ theft protection. depending on the location of the store, they are at more risk than others of their product being stolen so they use extra "double locked" cases as we call them instead of reg blu-ray cases when renting, however when selling them, even thou they may appear for sale in the reg dvd cases once you buy them, the employees are suppose to switch them to the retail blu-ray cases for the customer (if not already ready in them) thats what we do at my store, and i know most stores do have those extra blank blu-ray cases on hand in storage for that specific reason.

and odin24 - yes i am a supervisor there, and we still do have the plan-o-grams for us to reference for new promotions, upcoming sales or retail/ rental resets in the store. althou now alot of the new updates are also sent visa email or conference calls to the stores.

No disrespect, but if he opens himself up to that he'll get a flood of requests.

And although its just blu-rays and not wii's or anything, things of that nature usually is not looked on well from management/head office.

But heck if he can cool deal I guess!
