If the audio is as lousy as the US Blu, then that would be most unfortunate.

The original English language magnetic-track for the film has been lost to the ages.
When the film was released on DVD in the UK over a decade ago, an attempt - mounted by Marc Morris if I remember correctly - to improve the fidelity of the best English language track went ahead. The results were still pretty poor, with huge amounts of hiss and dialogue that is often hard to discern. The US Blu-ray release has equally lousy audio. I will fall off my chair in a very Paddington Bear-like manner if the UK version has better audio. Kev W |
