With DOA being announced, I wonder if 1976's Blank Generation will soon follow. Actually, MVD seem to have the rights to both the earlier documentary and the 1980 Lommel film - how about a double-feature, MVD Rewind Guy?

I'll look into to this. First thing I need to do is find out is there is either an a) an HD master or b) If there are materials to make an HD master.

Thanks for the heads up. I'll post again once I know more.

Boutique labels are sprouting up everywhere and seemingly doing well enough catering to niche markets to keep titles coming our way. It’s a great thing for collectors, and I hope it means we will get more attention to neglected genres like 80s teen comedies. Sure, I’ll buy horror and slasher stuff too, but I hope MVD continues to exercise the right to release a wide range of cult fare as they have shown they are willing to do with their first two announcements.

My question for MVD is: can you share with us some of the genres of titles you are planning to release in the future?

Would be happy to. We have a bunch of FUN action titles from 80's / 90's we are working on. I also have some comedies in the pipeline, Sci-Fi, Horror and Fantasy. Totally not sticking to one genre. In regards to horror, we're happy to take it on, but with so many other companies doing horror, we didn't want to make that our primary focus. Arrow and Shout Factory and other do such a great job, and as a collector, I love their releases. The MVD Rewind Collection likes all movies! So we will look at all genres for our releases.

They are two different movies but Arrow disc will still be better.

Just a heads up, Return of the Killer Tomatoes (which is the sequel) Arrow released in the US and UK, it's available on Amazon. It's a great release and I can't wait for MVD Rewind's release of the first one.

I'm really interested in what these guys are going to bring us, the fact that they are not adhering to any specific genre has a lot of potential and has me pretty damn excited.

So am I. I love collecting these myself so I'm basically trying to make stuff that I too would buy!

Here's a pic of the front of the limited run (meaning first pressing) of the DOA slip...

Oh, man, this is exciting! I’d actually prefer MVD not to drift too much into horror because the number of boutique labels covering the genre is in the double digits. Really excited about the “fun” 80s/90s action. Movies like Hard Ticket to Hawaii and Hired to Kill (Arrow Video) are standard bearers, but there are soooooo many of these I would love to buy and even blind buy. I am likely to buy any fantasy or schlocky sword & sorcery flicks too. I watch a lot of these at random on YouTube and find myself wishing I owned quality transfers of them.

Really looking forward to seeing where this line goes.

80s/90's horror, action and teen comedy are always high on my to buy list.

Would you all spread out into stuff like 80s Indonesian action films, or maybe stuff from Godfrey Ho? Or would rights be too much of a mess?

Looking forward to this line!

For cheesy action, please consider the catalog of director Amir Shervan:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0792763/?ref_=tt_ov_dr

Samurai Cop is pretty well-known in cult circles, but stuff like Killing American Style (Jim Brown and Robert Z'Dar!), Hollywood Cop and Young Rebels is just amazing.
