Is this version in 1080p? I've read so many conflicting things about the Discovery vs BBC versions and what it plays at 1080i or 1080p?!?!

yes, this is the good planet earth version presented in 1080p. the other version is the U.S. version sold through the discovery channel. this one is through BBC.
