Plus Mark Gastineau ain't in the hall of fame. 107 sacks in 100 starts. He had two 20 sack seasons just like JJ and retired with the most sacks in a single season. But retired too early and is not in the hall. Last edited by kidkash; 10-09-2017 at 06:57 PM. |

She said to boycott the Cowboys sponsors. The Cowboys play in AT&T Stadium. AT&T is the biggest cable/satellite operator with U-Verse and DirectV. Most of ESPN's money comes from carriage fees, and AT&T pays over $2.5 billion in carriage fees to ESPN each year and spends a bundle on advertising. Not a company you want your anchors to go after even indirectly. That doesn't even take into account that ESPN needs the NFL to justify their high carriage fees and even though they have a long-term deal it's still not a good idea to get on their bad side.

That's my thinking. 3-time NFL DPoY is pretty much a guaranteed induction into Canton. He doesn't need to play another down. He will, but his ticket is punched.
Dumervil was a real good player, no doubt. You don't get 17 sacks in a few seasons if you're a slouch. But the Hall of Fame in the NFL should be about the elites. The immortals. Dumervil has some nice counting stats. 102.5 sacks. 23 forced fumbles, 13 recovered. But, do you guys think in ten years anybody will put him in a conversation with Lawrence Taylor, Reggie White or Ronnie Lott? I don't. And, that's not to say that Dumervil doesn't have a chance at the Hall of Fame. He does. But J.J. Watt is on a whole other level. And, I'm not just saying that because we're both from the same hometown, Waukesha, WI. Watt has forced 15 fumbles, and recovered 13, the same recoveries as Dumervil, and only 8 fewer forced fumbles in 63 fewer games. And Watt also bats down a lot of passes as a D lineman-47 passes defended. But, like Lawrence Taylor before him, Watt's presence, alone, disrupts an entire offense. He's feared in a way that few players ever have been. Quote:
