That would be very cool, but there are different mastering restrictions with each studio, so KL doing a new 4K transfer may not be possible like it was with The Long Riders.

Also, I can tell you we tried interviewing Bruce Dern for another one of our releases and no one would believe how much his people were asking for.

Most of us I'm sure would be content with the film and and a few supplements. The Driver is truly a film that has grown in estimation the past half-decade, so you should have no problem with sales.

Would just love to have it!

I worship this film I'm happy with the Twilight Time release but I'd kill for a version with some extras and a brand-spanking new 4K master. The film is popular enough that it spawned two "homages" (Drive and Baby Driver).

I never bought the TT release as it was cut by 2 minutes. I am hoping that someone will re-release this uncut.

FYI: The UK Blu-ray does have the uncut version...it is on my wishlist

The Twilight Time release used the US version. They didn't edit the film, Fox did back in 1978.

I believe the longer version is with Studiocanal (this was a co-production between Fox and EMI).

Already have the Twilight Time of Judgment at Nuremberg (one of my favorite films). I'm going to get this version on Inherit the Wind.

If its indeed Brannigan, then I think you guys should give it a new 2/4k scan (which would also bring back the original UA card since the scan be a oversight project like The Long Riders and the upcoming Thomas Crown Affair) and add a commentary/supplement or two so that way it would give people more incentive to double dip and improve sales.

Also, the US version that TT put out WAS a 4k scan from Fox (Different than the StudioCanal IC master though that one was a 4k source as well).

Without getting into any sort of label bashing, I will just say that I'm so very happy and thankful that Kino are starting to release some former Twilight Time titles on blu-ray. Looking forward to more (as long as it doesn't interfere with releasing new to blu-ray stuff).

I'd really like a upgraded Blu of THE DRIVER. Wonderful car-chase filled film noir.

With Kino announcing something almost every day, I don't think that's going to be a problem.

Like all their titles, Kino's doing their own (inferior) encode, yielding soupy MGM grain and improper gamma. Whether you'll notice in motion is a different story.

MisterLime, would Kino be interested in picking up The Earthling (1980, FilmWays) or Florida Straits (1986, MGM)? I may have asked this a couple of years ago but I don't remember your reply.

At one point, MisterLime told me that Kino does not have The Earthling.

That film is one of my “Holy Grail” titles that I'd like to see released on Blu-ray someday.

Sorry, that is what I meant, that they issued the cut version and not that TT cut it themselves.
