They probably put 4K DI, Dolby Vision,/Dolby Atmos on it because they know it sucks but all the goodies might get people to buy it.

I might return it, and wait for the price to drop. Not happy that they decided to release this 4K three weeks early and not give notice to the buyers.

The price is in the normal range for a new UHD release

I liked the film, so I'm getting the best of everything.

Really digging the Best Buy 4K SteelBook. Will be pre-ordering once in-store pickup is available.

This should be cheap as hell pretty quickly after release. Would like the Steelbook but not if I can get the regular 4K combo for like $10 during the holidays.

Would be nice if more titles come down to that price this year. Last year, only one title (BvS) reached that price and only for one day.

...And at lunch time my Dark Tower 4K was delivered. So, I got it. The digital copy did not work, and the Sony Store said the digital code wouldn't work until October 17. Weird, that this got shipped out early, it even took Sony by surprise. but I'll take it!

Bummed to hear all the negative feedback on the movie itself. Was planning on a blind buy, but maybe I'll hang back for a killer deal.

Red Box or rent via Netflix BD and decide for yourself. That's what I plan to do. Because I can't tell you how many movies I've liked that others were quick to dismiss.

Book adaptations to film are generally bashed pretty hard online. I haven't read the books myself so I was able to enjoy it without any bias. It's not the greatest film ever made and it's too short at only 1.5 hours. But some of the action and set pieces are very entertaining. Plus, I'm a big Idris Elba fan.

Luckily the UPS guy actually knocked for once, so I was able to refuse delivery, which should auto-return it. I'm willing to try any movie, and usually enjoy stuff that everyone hates, but not for $30 + tax. Like I said, pre-order was only locked in for a potential price drop catch, not for an Amazon sneak attack.

Worst case scenario, I'll rent the movie at redbox and it'll be awesome, and I'll wish I'd watched it on 4K UHD. Best case, it'll be aiight, and I'll pick it up cheaper later on, and see how the transfer is.
