Sin City Canadian import + ???? - Blu-ray Forum

Ok guys, help me out. I'm about to jump on the Canadian import of Sin City from Amazon.ca, but the shipping is a killer. What else do you recommend I add to get free shipping?

I'm thinking Dusk till Dawn and then resell it as I don't like that movie all that much, but that seems a little silly. What other exclusives are out there? If you want, take a look at my collection to get an idea of what I like.

Yeah... it is. Think I might just do it anyway. Just realized the free shipping is only for Canadian addresses anyway.

Howdy, I picked up Sin City from Canada and Tin Man (both blu-ray of course!) from the UK and yes the shipping was high but the bottom line is do you want it? Your only on the rock one time, live like there is no tomorrow, cause there might not be! JUST DO IT!
Oh yeah, Sin City looks and sounds GREAT! worth every penny!

to be honest not checked the amzon price was the cheapest for me in the UK, took 2 days to get here to

I heard the image quality is very lacking on this SIN CITY blu ray... I would wait for the US release for sure.

image is great- macroblocking in some scenes however- but too my eye i cant fault it. not listed as a DTS HD MA track either but it most certainly is. which most of you prob know is a complete seller imo

Your source is lacking; you should see it before making any judgements. It's a solid release - unless you live and die for supplemental material.

By the way: if you want me to source out a copy of Sin City for you, PM me. Also, if you are interested in a Dark Knight Steelbook, I still have a couple left, you can combine that to save on shipping, I will sell for cost.

I Bought it Yesterday from Amazon.Ca, Got everything for about 25 bux with expidited Priority Shipping, and it will be here on the 23rd, next Tuesday. Confirmed with DHL International and Amazon.ca

I can't remember who it was that reviewed it or which site but the screen grabs looked not the best it really should. I buy a lot of imports but I know it will get better treatment as a US release as soon as they do it.

I am sure it is better than DVD at any rate...

Here is the Blu-ray.com review. I'd say 4.5 PQ and AQ is solid.

I read macroblocking from some review and the grabs too me seemed bad... and for a film that is about image like SIN CITY poor procedure in transferring to blu ray with instances of macroblocking is almost in excusable. It almost seems like a violation to a film of this style.

But if you guys think it looks great then that is cool. I will hold out a while to see if we get a 2009 release with bonus material... who knows the US may give the same encode.

Seriously, in Motion the Japanese Import which is supposedly "so much better" according to AVS is almost imperceptable. The CA release is FANTASTIC.
