Hi Guy's

Anyone from the UK that wants all 3 X-men movies on Blu ray get this...

I was looking around on www.hmv.co.uk today for some BD's and found in a cheapo section of under £10 Blu ray's An X-men box set that's Xmen 1,2 and 3 for £9.99 !!!!!

This must be a price mistake so i Pre-Ordered Mine ASAP !! I have had the confirmation E-mail to say it's Pre-Ordered and it's still £9.99 haha love it !!

Uber dude !!

Came across this thread while searching. I remembering reading on the internet that Fox is releasing the trilogy on April 21 of 2009. That could be true since Wolverine comes out on May 1. Guess we'll wait and see.

Just an FYI - others have gotten confirmation from HMV that it is a DVD version of the trilogy being sold for that price. There is another thread about this somewhere, but I'd suggest cancelling your preorder

I do hope they are released separately, I don't want to have to re-buy III though I agree it could use a better transfer.

I hope so, too... preferably a re-edit of the movie in which Cyclops, Jean, and the Professor all live, and they don't totally screw up the Phoenix plotline.

I understand that the movies aren't going to be just like the comics or cartoons. I understand not having the whole alien thing going on with the Phoenix plotline. But can they get somewhere in the ballpark of accuracy in terms of who lives and who dies?

The first movie wasn't great, but at least it didn't completely crap all over the basics. The second movie was excellent. And this third movie was just a travesty.

If you watch till after the credits roll, you'll see a spoiler concerning the professor.

I didn't think X3 was THAT bad. It did, however, pale in comparison to the other two. Kinda like Spiderman 3 compared to the first two films I have the X3 blu and it looks and sounds fantastic. Although, it's on a 25 GB disc and not a 50 GB disc. I'm hoping that when Fox releases the trilogy, they'll put them all on BD-50's.

I'd put X3 above Spider-Man 3 even.

I thought it was a fine 3rd chapter. And probably the one that's the most entertaining to rewatch. They just shouldn't have crammed so much story in and focused more on the characters.

I've never really understood the criticisms of 3. While I won't say it's on the level of 1 and 2, it's certainly no embarrasment and a really exciting film with what I consider a fairly logical conclusion.

I'd put a lot of movies above Spider-Man 3. That's not much of an accomplishment.

But I do agree that X-Men III is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. I think more than anything, the disappointment over it is with regard to what might have(and arguably should have) been.

Fox should've had Bryan Singer locked in to do the movie before he ever had a chance to bolt for Superman Returns. They should've either increased the running time or not tried to stuff as many storylines into the film. And they shouldn't have been afraid of releasing it later in order to get everything right instead of rushing into a locked date just to beat WB to the finish line.

IMO, X-Men III is about on par with the first X-Men movie which itself was plagued by many of the same problems. A rushed release date, budget issues, a way-too-brief running time, etc. X2 is the only entry in the series where the director was in control, had the proper amount of production time to complete the film, and was allowed to release a final cut over 2 hours in length. Not surprisingly, it's the most popular among fans.

X2 is definitely the best of three. It had some good action scenes and pretty good plot development. And like you said, it felt like time was well-spent on it compared to the first one. The first X-men had some pretty cheap and cheesy effects, but it wasn't bad at all. I enjoyed it. And about Spiderman 3, it definitely was a big disappointment. It was pretty good until the lounge singing scene. And it had way too many subplots and villains. Despite all this, it was still watchable. The CGI was pretty good though.

The lounging scene was pure fun. People should just enjoy it.
