Cool Bruce Lee: ultimate thread. Discuss the master here!

today I watched my first Bruce Lee film, Way of the dragon. It was awesome! I bought the ultimate collection for 15 bucks! Is Enter the Dragon good? What's your favorite Lee film?

All of Bruce Lee films are GREAT, Enter The Dragon is the best in the sense that it looks the best and has the best effects...because its the only Hollywood film. But my favorite after Enter The Dragon is Chinese Connection, ugh love that movie SO much...and Jet Li's reimage is awesome too.

I wish he were still alive today, I would love to see him behind the camera directing Martial Arts films, its a dead genre and it seems like its never coming back

How's the Blu of Enter the Dragon? What was it's original language? Yeah he's definetly one of the best out there. If not THE best. He could have made some excellent movies with todays effects and budgets.

So you mention all of his films BUT Return of The Dragon?! Where he kills Chuck Norris!?

Bruce Lee is the man. Enter The Dragon is awesome and it was a shame he passed away so young in life. I highly recommend checking out Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (only on dvd at the moment). A very solid biopic.

Actually, if you purchase "Enter the Dragon" on blu-ray you GET MOST OF THE DOCUMENTARIES OF BRUCE LEE's life.

I've been a Bruce Lee fan since I was a kid. My mom would take us to all of his movies (lived in NJ and they would always rescreen them at one theatre or another). Anyway, my favorite is Enter the Dragon (which looks absolutely vibrant on BD), and I always liked Return of the Dragon. At one time, I bought the VHS collection which had all of them.

Anyway, on the subject of Game of Death, Bruce Lee filmed all of the fighting scenes first (about 30 minutes worth), which was why he was clearly seen in them. He never got to finish the movie, however (he was finishing up Enter the Dragon) and the studio pushed some filler story out in an effort to create a Bruce Lee movie and gave us what most people know as Game of Death about 5 years later, which was really not very good, especially since it's obviously not Bruce Lee in alot of those scenes, including one that was basically a cardboard cut-out of his face or put a stand-in behind a huge set of sunglasses. Ugh! Ironically though, the funeral scene shown in the movie was actually his own.

However, according to the documentary on Enter the Dragon, Game of Death was intended to be a completely different movie based on all of the missing footage they ended up finding. They actually present the last 20 minutes of the movie the way Bruce Lee had made it. Once you see how it was supposed to look, it's quite the difference.

I guess Chuck Norris was rather peeved about being shown in the movie and not being paid for it. Basically, it was a mess that never should have made.

Basically how I feel, Enter The Dragon should have been his last film, Game of Death is laughable up until Bruce actually shows up .

If anyone hasn't checked out his book "Tao of Jeet Kun Do", I give it my highest recommendation for anyone who is interested in Martial Arts, Bruce Lee's movies, or Bruce Lee's Philosophy on everything from fighting to discipline to competition. He was truly an amazing figure.

Y'all should check out the new movie about Bruce Lee's master when it comes out on dvd and Bluray in a few month. It's called Grandmaster Ip Man starring Donnie Yen. I, Personally can't wait to watch this movie. Most reviews are saying it's an excellent movie, filled with amazing fight sequences. Man, just thinking about it makes me want to buy the Bluray right now.
