Rage, I'm always looking at 'investment' property.

Not for when I'm retired, I'm hoping I'm successful enough to own multiple houses in select areas to enjoy before retirement.

I can buy a smaller sized lot right now in Michigan (near UP) for $500 right now. I've thought about buying 5-10 acres cheap in Colorado in the middle of no where with a scenic mountain background.

I'd always love something as well in the south like NC.

Very cool! Once I pay off some old debt, I should look into doing the same. Too funny, GA is kinda getting to me lately with the traffic, congestion and weather, so I am actually considering NC as a middle ground.

I have 3 investment properties myself right now, 2 in North Texas & 1 in Indianapolis. I am eligible for retirement from the Navy now but with my recent promotion, I will probably hang around for 2 more years to maximize my pension. With that being said, I am entertaining the idea of acquiring one more investment property in South Central Texas as well. I know you work in finance but if you ever wanna B.S. aboot this topic I'm down.

Thanks man, me too. Working for a HUGE company, unfortunately I've kinda gotten used to it over the past few years but for her, one never truly knows the feeling until they go through it...she's always said she never knows what to say to me when I hear about layoffs. Not to mention, you already feel on an island already when you work remote.

EDIT: She's on the phone with her boss now and it sounds promising so hopefully she's OK.
