Empire isn’t even really a full cliffhanger per se yeah we still have to rescue han but you also get the hopeful montage of everyone reuniting and promising to see it through

John campea once called it a “tragic ending with hope “

You have things unresolved but you still feel a complete experience

I already mentioned The Empire Strikes Back. That also got mixed reviews when it first came out as well. But over the years, it has gotten a lot more praise.

I'm wondering if Thanos will actually battle the avengers in this one or if he'll just aquire the stones while unleashing a army for them to deal with. There's a big area of disappointment that the title could leave.

Didn't people say Thanos was throwing a moon or something? I've seen the trailer as well, and I didn't notice any moon or whatever. At first I thought it was because I saw it in poor quality and the people who claimed that Thanos threw a moon are the ones who saw it at Comic Con. So I don't know.

Fight scene, talk scene, fight scene, talk scene, fight scene, talk scene, fight scene, Merovingian talks about things that change the premise, nothing is followed up on, Fight scene, Chase Scene, Fight scene, Architect talks about stuff which changes the premise again. Neo does something that would have worked better if they were always in the Matrix, movie ends, people are disappointed, the next movie looses money.

Do you guys think it has a chance (either Part 1 or 2) of reaching Avatar's worldwide gross (2.8 billion almost)?

Depending on the marketing I think Part 1 has a slim chance. Part 2 is more likely to reach it but it will be completely dependent on how good Part 1 is.
