This is a Region-Free version, and it would ensure it gets to you much sooner rather than paying less overseas and waiting longer. Totally up to those who want to make their dollars work.

That statement bears the qualifier "If you're a Prime member."

Amazon UK has gotten surprisingly fast at shipping US orders. I just had a order of 1 movie and two tv series on BD arrive from the UK within a week. Even as a US prime member, my orders usually take 3 days now, often even 4 or 5 to arrive.

For years, amazon prime used to take 2 days from the time the order was actually placed, which often translated to 1 day in certain circumstances. They packaged much more protectively back then too. Now it takes 2 days in transit plus 1-2 days handling time. In fact I just placed an order the other night and didn't even get an order confirmation email for nearly 24 hours, which was surprisingly long for amazon. It still hasn't shipped, despite being in stock at the time of the order.

For those who aren't prime members in the US, this set shipped all the way from the UK could actually arrive faster. Amazon pushes prime membership so heavily now, one almost wonders if they're deliberately delaying non-prime deliveries, when you hear all the complaints from non-prime members about their order taking 2 to 3 weeks to arrive.

That's an interesting perspective. I've actually never ordered from any Amazon outside of the US mainly because of impatience and unfamiliarity. I'll have to give them a go now.

I haven't had the same experience with Amazon UK, but it's been a while since I ordered from them. The last time I ordered from Amazon Germany was much more recent, and it was very similar to what Jurassic describes, so I wouldn't be surprised if UK is better now too.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with your description of Prime. It just doesn't work that way. For example, it's Saturday now. Right under the "add to cart" button it says: "Want it Monday, Oct. 30? Order within 1 hr 29 mins and choose Two-Day Shipping at checkout." Every IN STOCK Prime product page tells you when you'll receive it.

I love Prime. Sometimes I get the option for a Sunday delivery. I have zero complaints about their delivery times.

I do agree shipping has improved lately from the UK, but it's a roll of the dice on how your items will arrive. (Bits of broken cases) I'm in California and my last two orders from the UK took about 2 weeks each.

I order a fair amount from overseas; however, I pay a 3% foreign exchange fee on my credit cards, so I have to build that into the cost of an item from the UK, or elsewhere, too.
