No embossing. I was a little bit underwhelmed with it in person if I'm honest, but the gloss makes up for it.

Yes the gloss looks nice, I purchased mine from amazon.de so I'm glad to hear I didn't miss out on a superior release

Only thing I can see different with the UK version is the bluray disc is blue and not black like amazon.de.
