WOW, I can't believe how much fun Mr. Go was. The best good-old-fashioned family sports movie I've seen in a while. Excellent 3D. I wouldn't be shocked to see an American remake of this at some point (minus the wonderful native 3D and probably a lot of the charm).

After you see portals to the past, please share your thoughts with me. I thought it was fantastic considering the time period and of course, the historical context. |

As far as Salazar's Revenge 3D goes, for me it was along the lines of Rogue One 3D. Once boosted, the 3D was nice enough. |

![]() There's another version that looks like it, but it's one of those red green glasses ones. Made the mistake myself of picking that one up, not realizing it wasn't legit 3D. Kept the slipcover for when I can track down the other one at a reasonable price. ![]() |

Just watched Hara Kari Death of a Samurai.
Great film. The story and performances will hold your attention to the final frame. Stunning photography too. But I will agree with others that the 3D was luke warm. The 3D was there but it lacked depth on all aspects and reminded me more of simulated 3D. However, it was not like watching it pancake. Again, like the simulation one can get out of a good blu ray transfer while salvaging all the detail and color saturation. Still, if a disc is available in 3D, even if it does not draw one into the picture, it's that version that goes on my shelf if the movie warrants it. This drama definitely does. |

I wasn't going to go to the flea market today, but I did....Good thing because I found
Captain America The First Avenger 3D and Avengers Age of ultron 3D. 10 bucks each. I was looking all over for these. Well Age of ultron is still easy to find but its 35 dollars in stores and 29.99 online. Captain America though I haven't seen anywhere for ages. My movie guy said he got them Friday . I still need Dr. Strange though. |

![]() Unsurprisingly, I enjoyed this a lot more in 3D than I did in 2D. I still find the film a not-scary dull-looking (boring bluey greeny grey visuals throughout) universe-building mess that's an excuse for Tom Cruise to do his lovable rogue thing and run a lot, but despite the Cruiser's charm falling desperately flat, the film moves at a fair pace and the zombies are the best I've seen in a PG13. Needless to say, the 3D is at its best in the plane sequence, with the bird strike happening in your face. Shame there weren't more pop-outs like that really, as most of the 3D is depth-only. The film spends far too much of its time in tunnels and underground spaces, so the 3D enhances those nicely but the outdoor scenes in the forest are a bit dark to really pop. The London street scenes reminded me a little of Doctor Strange and Thor The Dark World but they were all too brief. The bottom line for me is that this is another one of those conversions that won't convert anyone to the joys of 3D but if you have a good TV it will still impress far more than any pancake version could hope to, particularly given the muted palette. |

![]() The surgery scene, the car chase shoot out, the cigar, the bird on a wire, and every second spent at the fairground: this is a 3-D novelty film through and through. The plot is laughable. But what strikes me whenever I put this disc in is the startling PQ for such an old B movie--combined with the deep, often innovative 3-D, it looks stunning. |
