This was my first viewing of Scream 4 and I was surprised that I liked it almost as much as the first two. We get our favorite actors from the original returning and I was very impressed with the performances given by the new cast members as well. I cant get over how much I like the characters in this series, it has become one of my all time horror favorites.

With the disappearance of Agent Strahm and all evidence pointing towards him as being Jigsaw's accomplice, Detective Hoffman puts into motion a new game with an insurance agent that has made a living off of determining who gets to live and die. But as the FBI starts to piece together the puzzle, they uncover an audio recording of the Seth Baxter murder, believing that if they can unscramble the audio, they can determine exactly who is Jigsaw's accomplice.
Saw 6 is one of the stronger sequels. The characters participating in the games this time are interesting, and there are some unique twists and turns. With the FBI getting closer to discovering Hoffman, it has increased the intensity, and it makes this one, along with the previous installment, feel like the Saw series are reaching a natural ending.
42. Saw: The Final Chapter
After surviving Jill's trap, Detective Hoffman is uncovered as Jigsaw's accomplice, and he puts into motion one final game, targeting a man who claimed to be a Jigsaw survivor to sell a book. With the FBI closing in, Hoffman goes after Jill to get revenge.
Once considered the final Saw film, it wasn't a bad way to end the series, but it wasn't the strongest either. For what it was, it was an entertaining hour and a half, but I think it could have been a better ending to the Saw franchise. When it was first released, I thought it was a solid ending, mainly because we finally received answers to lingering questions about Dr. Gordon, questions that had been asked since the first sequel came out. But revisiting it again, seven years later, I found it to be weaker than the previous entries. It seemed rather silly at times, the new characters weren't nearly as interesting as some we had seen in earlier installments, and the closure wasn't nearly as satisfying as I remember.
But I do give the Saw franchise credit for all that it was able to accomplish in seven films. The continuity throughout is pretty amazing, even if sometimes convoluted, but each piece is necessary to put the whole puzzle together. Now that I've revisited the series, I'm looking forward to seeing how the new film, Jigsaw, plays out.

I agree with your opinion on Scream 4. The Scream franchise is one of my favorites, too. I loved how this one poked fun at remakes and gave us an interesting and fresh sequel at the same time.

LOVED IT! What an array of talented directors telling these weird little stories. Feels strange to say it but Spielberg's segment was by far the weakest. The other three were top notch. Landis, Dante and Miller's segments were so, so much fun! I'd say my favourite was Landis' and the prologue with Dan Akroyd was great too. The real question is, why the hell aren't they doing more of these!?! They should be doing one every few years with the latest up and coming talent, who I'm sure would kill for the chance to direct a segment in a Twilight Zone film. Imagine doing one now with M. Night Shyamalan doing a segment or Peter Jackson or Del Toro... The list goes on. Hell, bring back these four guys again to do a sequel!! It'd be awesome! For sure, this will become a regular re-watch from now on.
I love this movie. Bizarre, mind-bending stuff draws me in, and this movie has it. Next year, I'll have to think about also watching The Thing and Prince of Darkness to complete Carpenter's "Apocalypse trilogy".
Up next for me: Tonight, definitely Dracula (1992), one of my all-time favorites. Whether I get anything else in will depend on when I can leave work. If I do watch something else...maybe Silent Hill: Revelation, as its still on my dvr.

Delightful horror anthology has become one of my favorite ways to say farewell to another year’s worth of ghouls n’ goblins. [*snif*] Four ghoulish tales overlap and intertwine with each other with a Tarantino-esque cleverness, and writer/director Michael Dougherty (Krampus) keeps both the frights and laughs coming at a perfect clip. It’s also the rare anthology feature where no individual segment makes you want to hit the “chapter skip” button to get past it…every tale (including a childish prank that goes horribly wrong, a homicidal high school principal, a tides-have-turned riff on Little Red Riding Hood and a home-invasion climax with nods to vintage John Carpenter movies) feeds off of each other ingeniously. It’s prankish fun for all. And remember…always check your candy.

For the first 30 minutes or so I was feeling a bit "meh" on this but from there it slowly started getting more and more intriguing. In the end, all I can say is "what the ****"? Bat-shit. So many insane twists and turns. Something about the New Zealand accent just makes everything incredibly funny as well. Enjoyed this one!
- The only film I had to leave mid-way in the theatre. It wasn't my idea - a girlfriend I was seeing at the time was still under the weather from the flu she suffered a week prior. The scenes in the hospital with Jack appearing in his deteriorating state started to bother her, and brought back moments from prior sickness. I cared for her, so I didn't mind.
- I've seen the film a few times after, but it took years before it clicked.
- Last night was first time viewed in years, and I enjoyed it more. 8/10

Really only worth watching for the end credit scene. But then if you think about it, that scene does not really make sense after watching the final scene of the movie.
[Show spoiler]24. Seed of Chucky -
There were a couple of funny parts but otherwise it was pretty bad (Glen has got to be one of the most annoying characters ever). It seemed like they wanted to do something similar to Wes Craven's New Nightmare but completely failed/abandoned that idea midway through the movie.
23. Bride of Chucky -
I appreciated that they tried something new and there were some good parts but overall it did not feel like the same quality as the past movies. But this movie has my favorite Chucky design by far.
22. Child's Play 3 -
Another good entry in the franchise. Highlight was the finale in the haunted house ride.
21. Pulse (2001) -
I didn't get the movie so my rating is going to represent that. This movie made very little sense to me. All it seemed like the director wanted to say was that internet is bad and made an incoherent movie to make that point.
20. Making Contact -
Just awful. Movie didn't flow properly, the dialogue was awful and the plot was all over the place. The German cut which is 20 minutes longer might fix/help some of these problems but I'm not interested enough to sit through this movie again to see.
19. Child's Play 2 -
Good sequel. Would have given it the same rating as the first but the design for Chucky from the first movie was better.
18. House IV -
I liked how they tried to do something new with each sequel. It didn't always pan out but at least they tried to keep things fresh.
17. House III -
Probably the best one in the series so far but if the villain is one of the worst serial killers why is the body count so low in the movie?
16. The Faculty -
Good movie and Robert Patrick was excellent in this movie. Easily the best person in the movie. It was also fun seeing all these actors back when they were just starting out their careers.
15. Child's Play -
First time that I saw it I thought that it was good but not on the same level as some of the horror classics of the '80s but after watching it for a second time I am changing my tune. Chucky is awesome as a killer, the special effects at the end were cool and the actor who played the kid was really good. The only thing that I didn't enjoy was when during the middle of the movie when they focused only on the adults. Found it to be a bit boring and wrecked the pace of the movie.
14. House II -
I'm always up for a good horror comedy but this one was just too stupid. I did like the electrician though.
13. Visions -
Interesting take on the haunted house genre. Don't really want to say anything in case I spoil it but I liked it. The beginning might be slow but it is worth it to stay with it.
12. Waxwork -
Great homage to the classic horror icons and the big fight scene was hilarious.
11. House -
Pretty good horror comedy. Really liked the monster designs.
10. Jackals -
Was not really expecting much from this movie but it was actually pretty good except for a weak third act (which seems to be a common problem these days for horror movies).
9. Mockingbird -
It is your typical low budget found footage trash. Easy to see why Universal just dumped it on DVD with minimal effort (it doesn't even have a menu screen).
8. Session 9 -
Atmosphere and setting was great but I didn't really care for the movie. The Hallowed Grounds bonus feature on the blu-ray is great though.
7. Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland -
Worst one of the trilogy. Seemed like a needless cash grab. A few of the kills would have been good but they were censored to get the R rating.
6. Sleepaway Camp II: Unhappy Campers -
Really enjoyed the dark humor in this one. This movie was a completely different tone compared to the first movie and almost everything just clicked for me.
5. Sleepaway Camp -
Second time viewing this movie so I already knew the twist but it was still good. Really like the aunt in it.
4. Lights Out -
I really liked the concept for this movie and it made the monster/creature/demon more interesting. I really wished they would have left the deleted end scene in the movie as I thought it was pretty cool and gave the movie a proper ending.
3. Scream: Season 1 -
Overall it was pretty inconsistent. Some parts were great and felt very similar in tone to the movies but other parts felt like your typical "MTV teen drama". Though it does set up things nicely which could make for an interesting Season 2 (if it ever comes out on DVD).
2. Chamber of Horrors (1940) -
Not sure why this is classified as a horror movie. I guess a couple of scenes have some light horror elements. Anyways, it has a pretty awful script with laughable performances. Avoid this one.
1. Whoever Slew Auntie Roo? -
Mediocre movie but is made better with an entertaining performance from Shelley Winters.
