UPDATE 2/16/09

Starter Tourney this weekend. This way everyone can get a feel for the game and have fun. Official tourney will follow next month after people get a chance to really feel out the game.

PM for this weekends tourney.

Note of advice, Focus Dash Cancel is your best friend.

How can you play a tourney when the online netcode is broken. Ive played 4 or 5 times online and tried at least 50+ times. On the 360 it works 99% of the time, ive played over 50 matches there. Wait for a patch.

I haven't had any problems in individual games just in tracking stats through PSN. Logging game wins here makes it fair since both parties would have to log the results.

Note, when we get 16 you will be required to choose a character to use throughout the tourney.

count me in. ive had some problems playing tourneys though. cant find any through the search, but im sure i can accept an invite. ive been able to play close to 800 quickmatches in scoreboard.

That's what mine was, but I still have yet to see what SSFIITHDR stands for.

Although Street Fighter II something-something is as good a guess as any.

Anybody still doing these tourney's? I'll play. My only question is how does one bring everybody together under the same tourney without outside people joining?

Say when.

It won't be setup that way. The tourney will be 16 players single elimination first to 3 games.

Players will schedule the games with their opponents and then report the results back to me via PM. Results will be posted here.

I'm thinking up a real prize to give away and once I figure it out I will post what it is here.

May I suggest double elimination with a losers bracket? Single elimination opens the door for random elements and complaints.

Well, single elimination with 2/3 isn't too bad. I've played in single game single elimination tournaments before and it's pretty intense.
