Question about recent Sony BD players and PAL/50hz conversion

I've been going through the same thing lately trying to find a UK Sony/LG player that can convert 50Hz/PAL to 60Hz. From what I have been told in numerous threads, no players have the ability to convert to 60Hz out of the box. Many/most (all?) recent Sony and LG players seem to be able to output 50Hz if playing PAL, but it can't convert to 60Hz. So if you play PAL, it outputs PAL, if you play NTSC, it outputs NTSC. It won't convert.

I would love to find out I'm wrong about that, but sadly it seems there are no retail Sony or LG players that can convert PAL/50Hz to 60Hz.
