They're carried through nicely to the menu screens as well. So pleasing to see releases that have been produced with an eye to visual style.
One thing I enjoyed, more noticeable when watched as a series, is the way quite a few of the support players appear in more than one film, giving the whole thing the feeling of a repertory company.
And I realised only last night that Jane Birkin, who plays the opportunistic maid Louise Bourget in
Death on the Nile and the sun-averse Christine Redfern in
Evil Under the Sun, was the singer and (ahem!) erotic moaner on Serge Gainsbourg's song
Je t'aime ... mois non plus that was banned in Britain in 1969 and set Mary Whitehouse into a tizz.
