Default How Good Is The US "Hulk" Blu-Ray?

Not the new film but the 2003 movie? I am considering getting it.

I find the Picture Quality to be off the hook amazing.

I'm stunned by it often. There's close ups of textures often (just for style) and it's really awesome.

I watched it recently ... I've always liked it now I have the new one and like that one too. (I'm ok if they want to make part I over and over again... so far so good.)

I listen intently but I wasn't really listening in order to grade the audio but as far as I could tell the mix was great.

(I usually don't watch special features so I can't comment on that section.)

I hated the movie but I want to get it for the PQ as well (Plus all my other comic book movie which I already have on Blu). I'm looking to get as close to "free" as possible. I had a friend pay for my movie ticket to see it in the theater and someone gave me it on DVD. I have never spent money on this movie and I'm not about to start now!

Looks and sounds great. The PQ would be just about perfect if it weren't for some white specks here and there but otherwise, looks great.

Well, the Hulk is one of my favorite comic book characters. I all ready got the 3 Disc DVD for The Incredible Hulk. I am not going to double dip anytime soon for that one but since my Hulk DVD got scratched up by my little bro, I think it's time to upgrade to Blu-Ray.

I also think the new one is better.

old Hulk vs new Hulk
Main Acting - Eric Bana vs Ed Norton - Norton wins.
Supporting Acting - Jennifer Connelly, Sam Elliott, & Nick Nolte vs. Liv Tyler, Tim Roth, & William Hurt - tie
Directing - Ang Lee vs Louis Leterrier - Louis Leterrier wins.
Story - Ed Norton vs James Schamus - Ed Norton wins
Look of the Hulk - Ang Lee's Hulk wins.

So, the new Hulk movie takes 3.5/5.

Also, ratings on rotten tomatoes:
The Incredible Hulk - 67%
Ang Lee's Hulk - 61%

Picture/sound quality are great. If you like the film, you will like the Blu.

I thought that it was the worst comic book movie I have seen in my 24 years of life.

While many folks like to say "The new one looks more 'real'" (even though he still looks CG as all get out ), I thought Lee's looked excellent! You can see every pore, hair, freckle, wrinkle and mole clear as day!

And on the BD, he looks (and sounds) better than he ever has! I highly recommend it if you're any kinda fan.

For me (personally), it was more about when the Hulk wasn't on the screen.

The action scenes showing the Hulk in Ang Lee's Hulk were pretty good, but the rest of the movie was painful for me to watch.
I also didn't like the panelled scenes in Ang Lee's Hulk. I know that they used this film technique to simulate a comic book look, but in movie form it just made the shots appear disjointed and fake.

Basically, I didn't mind watching the scenes with Ed Norton in the Incredible Hulk, but couldn't stand the ones with Eric Bana in Ang Lee's Hulk.

.
That's one of the things I liked about the movie - felt way more comic-booky than the newer one.

Well, as we can see, it's a PERSONAL preference. I actually loved the way Lee's was shot. I've already had this discussion with jasonbird in the "Worst Comic Book Movie" thread (I didn't really think it was the worst, but the biggest disappointment, that's fer sure), so I don't wanna get into it too much here. I will say that Bana was perfect for me because he LOOKED like a wimp. Something required to be Bruce Banner. Edward Norton didn't LOOK the part. Along with several other things I hated about the movie, I felt trading in all of the psychological aspects of the character for physical ones was probably the stupidest move that could have ever been made in terms of The Hulk, i.e. his changes due to heartbeats instead of anger.

I will end in saying that I went into each movie for the title character: The Hulk, and Lee's Hulk looked better and acted angrier than Leterrier's Hulk.
