We already have several amazing titles announced for 2017, including the unlimited retail release of SUDDENLY IN THE DARK in February, our BD upagrade of Franco's COUNTESS PERVERSE, the Spanish giallo THE FOX WITH A VELVET TAIL and two Paul Naschy masterpieces, EL CAMINANTE and INQUISITION, all on Blu! But we've saved the best and biggest titles for our final announcement of the year!

Coming to BD for the first time in the US: two total classics of 70s Spanish horror - WHO CAN KILL A CHILD and THE BLOOD-SPATTERED BRIDE!

We're currently working with the licensor in Spain to make sure we get the best possible HD elements to ensure these will be the definitive editions of these films for years to come.

Both will have brand new 4k scans from the original negative. Scans for both are done and the restoration work on BRIDE has now been completed, while work is ongoing with the Naschy film. But I expect that will be done soon as well.

The scanning of BSB turned up some long lost alternate scenes and even an alternate ending! Last I heard these scenes were lacking audio but they have still been restored and will be included in the extras.

We'll also have some new exclusive interviews: with Simon Andreu for BRIDE and David Rocha and Nascy's son Sergio Molina for CAMINANTE. I think we'll have a couple of critic/historian talking head interviews as well but can't confirm that right now.

Finally both will have brand new audio commentaries, BRIDE by Kat Ellinger and Samm Deighan of the excellent Daughters of Darkness podcast (and a ton of other cool projects), and THE DEVIL INCARNATE by Troy Howarth, author of the forthcoming book HUMAN BEASTS: THE FILMS OF PAUL NASCHY.

I'm pretty sure I want Blood Spattered Bride on Blu-ray. I have the old Blue Underground DVD but never actually watched the whole thing through. I think the arthouse nature of the film threw me off but I want to give the film a revisit in HD.

Yes, it definitely will be. The regular edition's cover artwork hasn't arrived from the artist yet, but MM will announce it then.

BTW there's only about 100 copies (or less) remaining of the Limited Edition right now...so anybody waiting should jump on it now.

Which was still worlds better than my old censored Gorgon tape or my uncut VHS composite bootleg. It's important to keep these things in perspective -- the Anchor Bay DVD was a pretty great upgrade at the time of its release.

(Of course, Mondo Macabro's Blu should be a pretty great upgrade to that!)
